MONOETHANOLAMINE:
■ for monoethanolamine:
Odour threshold: 3-4 ppm.
Continuous exposure at 5 ppm produced only slight systemic effects. Intermittent exposure produces a lesser degree of toxicity in
laboratory animals. This decreased toxicity is related to the rate of elimination;
the longer retained, the greater the toxicity,. The TLV-TWA is thought to be protective against the risk of irritation and neuropathic
effects.
Odour Safety Factor (OSF)
OSF=0.77 (ETHANOL AMINE).
