The incidence rate of HIV-positive TB cases is highest in Myanmar,<br />

followed by Thailand, India and Indonesia. The incidence rate of HIVpositive<br />

TB cases was below 1 per 100 000 population in Bangladesh,<br />

Maldives, Sri Lanka and Timor-Leste. India accounted for the majority of<br />

new HIV-positive TB cases in the Region. Overall, HIV prevalence among<br />

TB cases is 5.7%, but it varies widely among countries.<br />

The estimated prevalence of HIV among TB patients between the ages<br />

of 15-49 years and the estimated number of active TB cases among PLHA<br />

in this age group is as shown in Table 4.<br />
