Emmaus Emmaus Emmaus Road Road Road Initiative Initiative Initiative Lecture Lecture Series Series Series Gil Bailie will present the second of eight lectures about the most exciting part of the Christian faith – the integration of theology and anthropology - on October 26 at 12:30 p.m. in the St. Thomas Aquinas Lower School Chapel, 6255 E. Mockingbird Lane (enter parking lot from St. Moritz Ave.). The topic is “Why Are We Here”. There will be an informal discussion of the presentation at 6:30 p.m. on October 26 at St. Joseph’s (600 S. Thirtieth Sunday in Ordinary Time Parish Parish Launching Launching Debt Debt Elimination Elimination Elimination Campaign Campaign Thank Thank You You to to All All Who Who Who Have Have Given Given To To Date Date Thank you to the families and individuals who have already made their pledge or gift to the Upon This Rock Campaign. As of 10/22/08 we have received $674,235.00 toward our goal of $3.3 million. While both the ’99 and ’05 facilities expansion campaigns were successful in garnering the greater part of the projected costs, each experienced some shortfall as well as some uncompleted pledges. This leaves us with a cumulative debt amount of about $3.3 million needed to offset total investments made. Why should this be important to you and your family? Because every household in the parish in some way benefits from the facilities we have invested in. the St. Anne Hall, the St. Jude Library, the gyms and meeting rooms, all provide the backdrop to our community’s fulfilling interactions, celebrations and ministries. Our Lower School expansion and improvements to the Upper School allow our youngest students to grow and learn in the best possible and age-appropriate settings. The full spectrum of our facilities are at the disposal of many groups and organizations …. As our ministries, services and supp o rt organizations have grown, so therefore must our responsibilities to the overall improvement of the parish and its facilities. Bring to completion the good work begun in the Lord for our present and our future. Please reflect on all that has been provided for you in this community of St. Thomas Aquinas as you consider your pledge. Look for the opportunity to support the Parish Debt Elimination Campaign in the coming weeks as our Debt Elimination Campaign Steering Committee continues its work.
