BAPTism: Baptisms are on the first and third Sundays of each month at 2:00 p.m. If not previously done,
parents and godparents are required to attend a Preparation Class, offered on the SECOND SATURDAY
of each month, 10:00 a.m. in St. Maron Room. Call the church office to make reservations for Baptisms
and the Class. Most couples find it more convenient to attend the class before the birth of the child.
WeDDings: Either the bride or groom must be a registered parishioner. Both must be free to marry
in the Catholic Church. Wedding dates are set at the first meeting with the priest or deacon, at least six
months before the wedding.
nursery cAre: Nursery care provided for children, three months to two years old, in the Preschool

Visits to the Sick
Please let us know when a member is ill or elderly, or in the hospital or
facing surgery. If possible please do not wait until it becomes an
emergency, when a visit and prayer and perhaps the administration of the
Sacrament of the Sick may be appropriate and helpful, so that we can do
our best to attend to the people in need.

Service to AIDS Patients:
Once-a-Month Cooks Needed
The St. Thomas Aquinas Supper Club is in need of people who will prepare
food once a month to give to AIDS patients at two homes in Oak
Cliff, run by a Jesuit priest. Casseroles, salads, desserts, and other dishes
are needed one Sunday a month for about 65 men and women at the
homes. If you are interested in serving those in need in this way, please

Remember Your Parish Donations During the Summer
As the summer months begin, patterns of church attendance change—
vacation, trips to the lake on the weekend, etc. Please remember that the
Parish operates year round—school time and summer time: Please don’t
forget that your weekly offering is ALWAYS VERY IMPORTANT to
keep normal operations steady—lights, air conditioning, salaries, debt
reduction. Annual maintenance is done in church and school facilities during
the summer, such as painting, cleaning, carpets and upholstery, etc.

ATTENTION SCHOOL PARENTS
Safe Environment Program at St. Thomas Aquinas
All parents who wish to visit the school during school hours or volunteer
are required to complete the St. Thomas Aquinas Safe Environment
Program. Parents must have a volunteer badge which is required
to be worn while visiting the school. New St. Thomas Aquinas Church
or School Volunteers must attend the Family of Faith Awareness
Training session. Awareness Training is an annual requirement of the
Diocesan Safe Environment Policy and is implemented here by the
STA Safe Environment Advisory Board. Please do not bring children
to the session. Please do not arrive late to the session. Latecomers
will be asked to come on another date. Go to the St. Thomas Aquinas
Parish website and then to the Safe Environment section to submit your
paperwork online.

Youth Ministry
Our Summer Youth Ministry program starts Wednesday, June 11,
when we go to Hawaiian Falls in Garland. Leaving from the Lower
School at 10:30 a.m. and returning to the Lower School at 5:00 p.m.
Cost is $10 per family which includes an all day pass and a hot dog,
chip, drink and cookie lunch. Everyone should wear his blue STA
Youth Ministry T-Shirt. We will give you one if you do not have one.
Please see and SAVE the June and July schedules on pages 5 and 6 of
this bulletin.
NOTE: There will be NO 6:00 p.m. Sunday Mass at the Lower School
during the summer. Mass begins again a the start of the CCD/Youth
Ministry program in the fall.
UPCOMING CCD/YOUTH MINISTRY PROGRAMS
FOR THE FALL 2008:
Starting in September 2008, we will be offering the
following religious education programs:
- Grades 1-4 on Sundays at 10 a.m. in the Upper School
- Grades 5-12 and R.C.I.C. (Rite of Christian Initiation
of Children) from 5:00-7:30 p.m. with Mass at
6:00 p.m. at the Lower School.
- Family Religious Education, for those families who
are unable to attend the programs listed above, will
take place once-a-month. Details TBA.
