As the Javits Convention Center’s exclusive in-house caterer for more than a decade,
Centerplate is renowned for its impeccable service and superb selection of menus. They
were selected to provide food & beverage for the Javits Center because of their nationally
recognized commitment to making excellence a priority.
Catering
The Executive chef and his culinary team enjoy designing a wide variety of extra-ordinary
menus inspired by culinary influences from around the world. Whether for large banquets,
luncheons or meeting breaks, they take time to learn about each client in order to create
sophisticated dishes that appeal to their ethnic or regional tastes.
Centerplate is known far and wide for great service at convention centers across the nation.
They offer a full range of menus and items which cater to every taste and budget, from simple
snacks to elegant main courses. Their Sales Managers will assist you in designing menus for
breakfast, lunch, dinner and cocktails on a scale that ranges from modest to grand. The entire
staff is completely dedicated toward making your events an outstanding success. Centerplate’s
commitment to superb cuisine and impeccable service has helped the Javits Center to emerge
as one of America’s foremost convention center complexes.
Restaurants and Concessions
In a city with more than 17,000 restaurants featuring every cuisine imaginable, the
food & beverage service offered at Javits must be very special to compete. Centerplate
offers a wide variety of cuisine, at every price range with freshness and quality of taste
being the theme of the Javits food courts. There are twenty-two permanent and many
mobile and temporary food outlets throughout the Center, concentrated in the Level
1 and Level 3 food courts. The scheduling of the food outlets varies, based on the size
and location of the event you are attending.
Centerplate recently completed an extensive renovation of the Level 1 Food Court.
The area has received a complete facelift, new lighting, decorations and a multi-ethnic
variety of cuisines including American Grill, Italian, Kosher, New York Deli and Asian
along with specialty desserts. On Level 3, the Food Court located in the Crystal
Palace features eleven permanent food outlets where every culinary need can be met.
Atop the circular mezzanine overlooking the Crystal Palace, Centerplate is planning a
restaurant for mid-day dining. The restaurant has been designed so that it can be removed
if an event needs use of the mezzanine space. The yet to be named restaurant
will serve a variety of foods revolving around the theme of New York State produced
products. For example, the restaurant will offer New York State seasonal harvest of
fruits and vegetable, cheeses produced upstate, and wines from the Finger Lakes,
Hudson Valley and Long Island regions. We expect the Mezzanine restaurant to be
completed by late fall ‘06.
