Services for Iva R. Sargent, 78, of<br />

Topeka. Kan., were Saturday, Feb. 9,<br />

at Topeka Presbyterian Manor<br />

Chapel in Kansas. Burial was in Elk<br />

Run Cemetery in Elkton, Va.<br />

Mrs. Sargent was born Aug. 6.<br />

1912, in Shenandoah. Va. She died<br />

Thursday, Feb. 7. in Topeka. She<br />

graduated from high school in Lima.<br />

Ohio, in 1931, and came to the Plymouth<br />

community in 1951, to Winston-<br />

Salem. N.C., in the mid-1960s, and<br />

then to Topeka in 1980.<br />

She was employed as a bookkeeper<br />

for her husband's business, a<br />

plastics manufacturing company in<br />

Mount Airy, N.C. She was active in<br />

the WHO (Women Helping Others)<br />

group in Winston-Salem, was a<br />

member of St. David's Episcopal<br />

Church and Washburn Walkers and<br />

served as a volunteer for Doorstep.<br />

Mrs. Sargent is survived by one<br />

son. Dr. Joseph D. Jr. of Topeka; one<br />

daughter, Susan Ledna Muhlenkamp<br />

of St. Joseph. Mich.; eight <strong>grand</strong>children.<br />

Mr. Bomesberger is survived by<br />

his wife, Mary Bomesberger of<br />

Plymouth Township; one daughter,<br />

Anne Durden of Lexington, Ky.; one<br />

son, John Bomesberger of Houston,<br />

Texas, and two <strong>grand</strong>daughters.<br />

Mr. Bomesberger was born June<br />

22, 1914 in Cambridge, Ohio. He died<br />

Monday, Feb. 4. in Plymouth Township.<br />

He was a resident of the Detroit<br />

area for 30 years, moving to Plymouth<br />

in 1987. He retired from the<br />

Crane Company, was a former member<br />

of Kiwanis International. Rotary<br />

His favorite subjects are history<br />

and algebra. He said other youths<br />

money and it gives them more responsibility.<br />

to the Traverse City area. He was<br />

retired from a construction industry.<br />

He attended the Lutheran Church<br />

and was a member of the Elks in<br />

Florida.<br />

wife, Phyllis Jarskey of Pompano<br />

Beach, Fla.; four sons, Roland Jarskey<br />

in Plymouth Township.<br />

And Friday, 25 former co-workers<br />

from the Plymouth Township Police<br />

Department paid their respects by<br />

attending Reuther's funeral in<br />

Tecumseh, after his shooting death<br />

Feb. 4 in Milan.<br />

Reuther, 32, a full-time Milan police<br />

<strong>off</strong>icer, was shot and killed<br />

while walking into work for the 5<br />

p.m. shift by a man arm^d with an<br />

assault rifle, said a Michigan State<br />

Police investigator.<br />

Mr. Chesner was born March 22,<br />

1936, in Detroit. He died Saturday,<br />

Jan. 26, in Grayling. He was a longtime<br />

resident of Plymouth and<br />

moved to Grayling in 1988.<br />

He was a retired machinist, a<br />

member of the Grayling American<br />

Legion No. 106 and an honorary<br />

member of the Westland VFW No.<br />

3323. He served with the U.S. Air<br />

Force during the Korean War. A military<br />

funeral was provided by the<br />

Westland VFW Post No. 3323.<br />

Mrs. Czapla was born Feb 12,<br />

1903, in Kempa Lubanska, Poland.<br />

She died Thursday, Jan. 31, in Redford.<br />

She resided in Plymouth in<br />

1990 and was a resident of Detroit<br />

for 42 years. She was a homemaker<br />

and a member of St. Christopher<br />

Catholic Church in Detroit.<br />

served as a patrol <strong>off</strong>icer on the<br />

night shift.<br />

"He had a high arrest rate and<br />

conviction rate on OUIL (drinking<br />

and driving) arrests," Berry said.<br />

Reuther, of Tecumseh, was a fulltime<br />

Milan <strong>off</strong>icer when he worked<br />

part-time in Plymouth Township. He<br />

chose to leave his Plymouth job in<br />

August. Berry said, when the Plym-<br />

Mr. Myles was born Sept. 3. 1910,<br />

in Henry County," Ohio. He died<br />

Wednesday, Jan. 30, in Livonia. He<br />

moved to Plymouth Township prior<br />

to his retirement in 1975 from the<br />

Chrysler Corp., where he was working<br />

as a financial analyst.<br />

He was a member of the First<br />

United Methodist Church of Plymouth<br />

and the Masonic Lodge. He was<br />

a bridge player and had earned master<br />

points in the ABCL. He also was<br />

treasurer of the Condominium Association.<br />

Mr. Myles is survived by one<br />

daughter, Margaret Rousseau of<br />

Police Academy in 1979 and<br />

worked as a police <strong>off</strong>icer for 12<br />

years.<br />

TRUPIANO SURRENDERED to<br />

police shortly after the shooting. He<br />

was arraigned Feb. 5 in 1st District<br />

Court in Monroe on a murder charge<br />

and a felony firearms charge. No<br />

plea was entered at that arraignment,<br />

a court <strong>off</strong>icial said.<br />

Trupiano faces a preliminary<br />

exam before 1st District Judge Terrance<br />

Bronson at 2 p.m. Wednesday.<br />

No bond has been set for Trupiano,<br />

who remains" in the Monroe County<br />

Jail, state police said.<br />

Susan LaGosh-Bryl, 43. of Ann Arbor.<br />

Mrs. LaGosh-Bryl was born July<br />

23. 1947 in Detroit. She died Tuesday,<br />

Feb. 5, in Ann Arbor. She lived<br />

in Dearborn until 1965 and lived in<br />

Ann Arbor 1965-1970. She later<br />

-moved to Madison, Wis., where she<br />

worked at the Wisconsin Historical<br />

Museum, then moved to Portland,<br />

Ore., where she opened a bookstore<br />

She returned to Michigan in 1980.<br />

and to Ann Arbor in 1985. She was<br />

manager of <strong>Library</strong> Services at<br />

Parke-Davis in Ann Arbor<br />

Mrs. LaGosh-Bryl is survived by<br />

two daughters, Jennifer Bryl of Ann<br />

Arbor and Emily Bryl of Ann Arbor<br />

and her parents, Stephanie and William<br />

La Gosh of Plymouth.<br />
