The 40 Day Soul Fast Journal can empower us to live more authentically. We will be stopping to look around as we are told in Jeremiah, “Stop at the crossroads and look around. Ask for the old, godly way, and walk in it. Travel its path, and you will find rest for your souls…” (Jer. 6:16 NLT). And as Jesus so gently implored, “Let Me teach you, because I am humble and gentle at heart, and you will find rest for your souls” (Matt. 11:29 NLT). This 40 Day Soul Fast is about finding rest and restoration for your soul. When all is well with the souls of humanity, all will be well in the world. When you have peace in your soul, you will bring that peace to bear on the world around you— you will become the change you are hoping to see. A prayer offered by the Rev. Noelle Damico, a respected clergywoman and activist who has coordinated fasting campaigns for social change, echoes my prayer for you as you begin this 40-day journey: May this fast be a time of purification for you, as you seek truth and clarity.
