There are no antidotes for this material, treatment is based on
symptoms.
5. Fire Fighting Measures
In case of fire: Use Dry Chemical or CO2 for extinguishing.
(P370+P378) For surrounding fire such as dry chemical for small fire,
use carbon dioxide, water fog and dry chemical.
Closed containers can explode due to buildup of pressure when
exposed to extreme heat. Do not use direct stream of water on pool
fires as product may re-ignite on water surface. Caution - Material is
extremely flammable!
Smoke, fumes, hydrocarbons and oxides of carbon.
6. Accidental Release Measures
Personal Protection Wear protective gloves/eye protection/face protection. (P280) If
Equipment:
misting occurs, use appropriate respiratory protection.
Non Emergency Leave the immediate area; prevent smoking or open flames,
Personnel:
turnoff all electrical equipment without generating sparks. Use
natural ventilation (open doors or window) avoid sparks and
ignition sources.
Emergency
Carefully ventilate the area avoid sparks and ignition sources.
Responders:
Firefighters must wear full face piece self - contained breathing
apparatus in positive pressure mode. Do not use solid stream of
water since stream will scatter and spread fire. Fine water spray
can be used to keep fire - exposed containers cool.
Environmental Keep away for heat, sparks and open flames.
Precautions:
Methods & Materials Flush the area with water, ventilate with large volumes of
for
outside air, avoid generating sparks, heat or flames.
Containment/Cleanup:
Other information: Keep away from heat, sparks and flames.
Generation
Prevention:
Handling
Keep container tightly closed. (P233)
considerations: Ground/bond container and receiving equipment. (P240)
Use Proper air purification system to remove fumes, or Use
explosion proof electrical/ventilating/lighting equipment. (P241)
Use only non sparking tools. (P242)
Take precautionary measures against static discharge. (P243)
Safe Storage: Store in original labeled container. Keep in room temperature
28ºC (82º F) or below and in dry areas.
General Hazards: Product is extremely flammable. Products of combustion include:
smoke, fumes, hydrocarbons and oxides of carbon. Vapors may
cause a flash fire or ignite explosively. Vapors may travel a
considerable distance to a source of ignition and flash back.
Exposure Controls:
8. Exposure Controls/Personal Protection
Follow all manufactures instructions.
