Introduction<br />

ISO 9000 Registration<br />

The industrial rubber hose shown in this catalog<br />

is manufactured in the ALFAGOMMA ® factory in<br />

Teramo, Italy (shown at right). This manufacturing<br />

facility has earned registration under ISO 9001 -<br />

ISO 14000 for constant high quality.<br />

The ISO 9000 family of standards represents an<br />

international consensus on good management<br />

practices with the aim of ensuring that the<br />

organization can time and time again deliver the<br />

product or services that meet the customer's<br />

quality requirements.<br />

ISO 9001 is one of three quality assurance models<br />

against which a plant's quality system can be<br />

audited. The standard sets out the requirements<br />

for an organization whose business processes<br />

range all the way from design and development to<br />

production.<br />

New Technology<br />

Kuriyama of America, Inc. North American<br />

headquarters and main warehouse (shown at left),<br />

is located at 360 E. State Parkway, Schaumburg,<br />

Illinois. Kuriyama exclusively distributes <strong>Industrial</strong><br />

<strong>Rubber</strong> <strong>Hose</strong>s manufactured by ALFAGOMMA Spa.<br />

In order to meet requirements for applications where<br />

flexibility is an essential feature, ALFAGOMMA ® has<br />

developed two innovative structures code-named 4+4 SP<br />

& 4+4 SP PLUS. Four textile and four steel spirals are<br />

used for the manufacture of all suction and delivery hoses.<br />

The four textile spirals ensure size stability and pressure<br />

control, while the four steel spirals make hoses vacuum<br />

resistant and more flexible.<br />

The 4+4 SP structure ensures a bend radius ranging<br />

between four and five times the internal diameter. The<br />

4+4 SP PLUS structure has been designed for those<br />

hoses where the application requires a bend radius three<br />

times the internal diameter.<br />

The 4+4 SP and the 4+4 SP PLUS structures eliminate<br />

the need for corrugated hoses to achieve a higher bend<br />

radius. <strong>Hose</strong>s with the above structures are marked in the<br />

catalog with the symbols shown at left.<br />
