U11As finished the indoor season with a convincing win against a young Bessborough
team. Akshay 33 retired, Shiv 30 retired, Luke run out 29, forced the pace and ran well.
HSM 168-3. Oscar the Enforcer (3-1-5-3) finished the game as a contest with 3 wickets in
the first over, a fine catch by Tom off the first ball setting the tone. Shaariq [3-1-13-1] spun
the ball sharply. Besbborough dug in to practice against good bowling and finished 70-5. A
promising platform for the summer.
HSM won by five wickets
U13As
Skipper Rohan Sharma won the toss and put the oppo in. A pacey first over by Dylan Leon
was followed by a wicket in Rohan Sharma's over, Dylan taking an easy catch at the back
wall. Beesborough then upped the scoring using Dylan and Rohan's pace. HSM brought on
the leg spin of Nikhil Chavda and Sajan Shah who slowed the scoring rate down with some
tight overs with great back up in the field from Essam Rama and Joe Bone. Sajan taking
two wickets, the second a sharp caught and bowled off the roof before a late charge from
Bessborough saw them to a total of 113 of the 12 overs.
Dylan Leon 3-0-29-0
Rohan Sharma 3-0-36-1
Nikhil Chavda 3-0-25-0
Sajan Shah 3-0-15-2
Our chase started off slowly as Dylan, unable to get his feet moving had his
off stump knocked back in the first over and Essam in his eagerness to bash
the ball was caught off the side wall in the third. Rohan Sharma and Joe
Bone began steadying the ship and when Rohan departed for 16 (off 7 balls)
Nikhil Chavda joined Joe at the crease. These two showed fantastic cricket
brains to turn the game around and effectively win it for us with a great
partnership. Hardly a ball was wasted as they hit the walls and ran
effectively between the wickets. Bessborough who must have been upbeat at
the start they had made watched helplessly as the game slipped away from
them. When Nikhil retired for 30 (off 12 balls) we were back in the driving
seat. Alex Mirzai had a quick cameo finishing the game of with a six.
Dylan Leon 0 (6 balls)
Essam Rama 4 (6 balls)
Rohan Sharma 16 (7 balls)
Joe Bone 24*(19 balls)
Nikhil Chavda 30*(12 balls)
Alex Mirzai 13*(9 balls)
Sajan Shah DNB
James Dobbin DNB
A good victory in the end with an over to spare. Coach Gary praised Nikhil
and Joe for their partnership and asked the boys for more aggression and
positivity in their play.
