<strong>The</strong> widowed Harriet married a second time, to Peter Klein in 1876; they had one son,<br />
Ulmer Klein (yet another descendant named after the Ulmers, he was born in 1878 and died<br />
childless on 21 April 1956; known to his relatives as “Uncle Ullie,” he is buried in Spring Lake<br />
Cemetery, Aurona, Illinois, beside his parents) and one daughter, Clio Klein (born 1881; shown<br />
on the 1900 census).<br />
Ulmer Klein married Radah Shattuck. In the Aurora, Illinois City Directory for 1910-<br />
1911, Peter Klein and wife Harriet E[lizabeth] are listed as publishers <strong>of</strong> the Volksfreund<br />
German-language newspaper; Peter was also President <strong>of</strong> the German-American Bank and<br />
served as a Probate Clerk as well. Living at the same address is Ulmer Klein (“stenographer”)<br />
