Cuttlefish are a Mollusc of the
type Cephalopoda which
means feet coming out of the
head. Like their cousins Squid
and Octopus they are very
clever at camouflage and can
change colour to blend in with
their surroundings.
They have an internal shell
which is very light because it
is made up of tiny air filled
compartments which help
them to go up and down in the
water. These white foamy
shells can often be found
washed up on the beach like
the one on the left side of the
detail below.
