3/8” Smooth Sweet Iron Snaffle

This classic snaffle bit has been the top choice
of trainers and riders thru the ages. The
combination of the slightly weighted ring with
an average size 3/8” smooth snaffle makes this
bit perfectly balanced for training and every
day riding. The weight of the ring increases
feel for both the horse and rider, giving the
horse pre-signals to rein cues and providing
clearer communication. Sweet iron naturally
rusts into a light patina. The rust creates a
sweet taste for the horse, making the bit more
acceptable and increasing salivation for a
supple mouth.
BITS.
3/8” Twisted Copper Snaffle

This snaffle bit should be a top choice when
using a twisted snaffle. The combination of
the slightly weighted ring with a 3/8” twisted
snaffle makes this bit perfectly balanced for
training and every day riding. The weight of
the ring increases feel for both the horse and
rider, giving the horse pre-signals to rein cues
and providing clearer communication. Copper
tastes sour to the horse (a bit like a green
apple) and will increase salivation. This makes
the bit more comfortable for the horse, and
leads to a relaxed jaw and acceptance of the bit.
Copper is a soft metal, check for signs of wear
Bits.
This multi-use bit is designed for all disciplines and any level of horse. The medium weight loose ring
is an excellent choice for maintaining light contact, or for the rider who doesn’t like the added feel
of a traditional weight ring. The 3-piece ergonomically designed mouthpiece results in soft and even
pressure across the tongue, bars and lips. Reinsman’s Sweet & Sour mouthpiece tastes like a green apple
dipped in molasses and is sure to become your horse’s favorite! The sweet and sour combination causes
increased salivation, leading to a more relaxed jaw and a supple mouth. Copper is a soft metal, check for
3/8” Smooth Sweet Iron Snaffle

This Western Dee is a great choice when you
want a more direct signal than you get with
a loose ring snaffle. The Dee ring applies
pressure to the horse’s cheek on the opposite
side of the face from the rein you pull, allowing
for better flexion. Sweet iron naturally rusts
into a light patina. The rust creates a sweet
taste for the horse, making the bit more
acceptable and increasing salivation for a
supple mouth.
Charlie Green

The Black Tie Dee with a “no pinch” ball
design is Reinsman’s premier dee ring.
Reinsman’s Charlie Green mouthpiece was the
go-to mouthpiece for the great trainer, and is a
great tune up bit prior to snaffle bit events. By
combining two great snaffles you get the best of
both. The smooth section is soft over the bars
and mild on the lips, while the twisted center
helps sensitize the tongue when needed.
Bits.
Sweet & Sour Snaffle with Even Pull
The Black Tie Dee with a “no pinch” ball
design is Reinsman’s premier dee ring. The
Even Pull element results in soft and even
pressure across the tongue, bars and lips. And,
for the horse with a low palate, the Even Pull
removes the potential ‘nut cracker’ effect of a
regular jointed snaffle. Add to that Reinsman’s
Sweet & Sour mouthpiece which tastes like a
green apple dipped in molasses, and this dee
is sure to become your horse’s favorite! The
sweet and sour combination causes increased
salivation, leading to a more relaxed jaw and a
supple mouth. Copper is a soft metal, check for
signs of wear before each use.

The Trail Dee design encourages relaxation of
the jaw because of the limited likelihood the
mouthpiece will break down into the tongue or
up into the palate, and the Double Five copper
inlay will increase salivation.
BITS.
Introducing the Reinsman Trail Dee!
Designed for the well trained horse to comfortably carry all day long. The headstall ring aligns
the mouthpiece at a pleasing angle in the horse’s mouth and prevents downward rotation of the
mouthpiece when rein pressure is applied. Comparable to an English Kimberwicke without the
leverage element. Allow your horse to relax and enjoy the trail as much as you do!
The 3-Piece Sweet Iron Snaffle with Copper
Sweet Iron Small Chain Mouth with Copper Pacifiers
# 345

BITS.
This bit has light control and is excellent for training or relaxed pleasure riding. The small chain
mouth conforms well to the bars and tongue making it comfortable for your horse to pack. Copper
pacifiers are great for the nervous horse and encourage salivation. The chain mouthpiece is a good
choice for a horse that likes to chew on the bit. The chain is hard for the horse to bite down on and
play with. Also, because the chain conforms to the shape of the horses’s mouth - the horse can move the
links around on his tongue placing the bit in a more comfortable location - leading to a quieter mouth.
The short gag action collects a horse very well. It helps to get your horse’s legs underneath him and his
hind end down. Designed to be used with a curb chain. Copper is a soft metal, check for signs of wear

Bits.
The Just Enough is a very nice transition bit when moving from the ring snaffle to a curb bit. The
limited gag action is softer than moving from the ring snaffle directly into a curb bit with swivel or solid
cheeks. The 3-piece ergonomically designed mouthpiece results in soft and even pressure across the
tongue, bars and lips. Reinsman’s Sweet & Sour mouthpiece tastes like a green apple dipped in molasses
and is sure to become your horse’s favorite! The sweet and sour combination causes increased salivation,
leading to a more relaxed jaw and a supple mouth. Copper is a soft metal, check for signs of wear before
each use. Start with #355 and move up to #450 if more leverage is desired.

3/8” Smooth Copper Snaffle
# 374

BITS.
The Gentle Guide is a great starter bit or transition bit. The unique cheeks offer similar advantages
to a Full Cheek snaffle. Yet, this bit is even more gentle! The wider cheeks disperse pressure across
the horse’s face to encourage turns and flexion instead of at a single concentrated point like the Full
Cheek. The slight gag action makes this bit “slower” than a traditional Full Cheek because it takes
the mouthpiece longer to engage. The smooth snaffle is a nice average 3/8” diameter and the copper
causes the horse to salivate making for a softer more supple mouth. The Gentle Guide is easily
adaptable to a German Martingale for stepping training up a notch. This is sure to be one of your new
favorite bits. Copper is a soft metal, check for signs of wear before each use.
Bits.
A great all around bit. This transition bit works very well with German Martingales. Though this bit is
a popular style among Barrel & Polo horses, it has a wide range of uses for many disciplines. Reinsman’s
Sweet & Sour Lifesaver mouthpiece tastes great and increases salivation for a nice supple mouth.
3-Piece Lifesaver conforms to the shape of the horse’s mouth and works off tongue and bar pressure.
The Sweet & Sour bars rank in between a smooth snaffle and twisted snaffle. Use with or without a curb
chain. Copper is a soft metal, check for signs of wear before each use.

BITS.
Reinsman’s Colt Bit is a great choice when transitioning from the ring snaffle to a curb bit. The
extra weight is carried by the headstall, clearly introducing poll pressure, helping teach proper head
carriage. The additional weight also pre-signals the horse to rein cues allowing him to comply before
the mouthpiece fully engages. The copper mouthpiece encourages salivation allowing the bit to move
smoothly across the tongue and bars. Copper is a soft metal, check for signs of wear before each use.
Bits.
The Argentine Cheek has always been a great choice and continues to be highly popular. The only
thing that can improve upon this age-tested design is Reinsman’s Sweet & Sour mouthpiece! Like a
green apple dipped in molasses, the combination of copper and sweet iron are very appealing to the
horse, with the added bonus of increased salivation - making for a softer mouth. A highly versatile bit,
it is a good transitional choice for introducing curb pressure and is a great everyday riding bit with its
average shank length. Copper is a soft metal, check for signs of wear before each use.
BITS.
The Sweet Iron Modified Billy Allen is a great all around mouthpiece and the perfect choice for a
horse with a low palate. Reinsman’s Modified Billy Allen has more mullen relief than the standard
Billy Allen giving it an ergonomic fit resulting in soft and even pressure across the tongue, bars and
lips. The center barrel has limited movement preventing the bit from scissoring down into the tongue
or up into the palate, but has plenty of rotation. Sweet iron naturally rusts into a light patina. The
rust creates a sweet taste for the horse, making the bit more acceptable and increasing salivation for a
supple mouth. The 6” swept back cheeks make this bit fairly soft; and the combination of the Modified
Billy Allen and the swivelling cheeks make it easy to isolate each side of the horse’s mouth. Reinsman’s
Golden Glide bushings further enhance the smoothness of the independent cheek movement allowing
for more precise cues. This style is preferred by reiners as a transition bit, and by trail riders, but the
versatility of this bit makes it a great choice for any style of riding.
Bits.
The Sweet Iron Low Ported Barrel is a great mouthpiece for the horse that does not respond well to
tongue pressure. The width of Reinsman’s ported barrel provides plenty of room for the horse’s tongue
to pass underneath, and when engaged does not rotate onto the tongue. This bit works primarily off
of bar and lip pressure with some poll and curb involvement. Sweet iron naturally rusts into a light
patina. The rust creates a sweet taste for the horse, making the bit more acceptable and increasing
salivation for a supple mouth. The 6” swept back cheeks make this bit fairly soft; and the combination
Bits.
The Solid Pleasure Bit is exactly what it says - a pleasure. The forward Sweetwater mouth makes
this bit very easy for the horse to carry. The shape of the port along with the extra mullen relief is
comfortable for the horse as it provides tongue relief while distributing any pressure evenly across the
horse’s mouth. Though this bit is mild, it has enough control when you need it without being overly
aggressive. Sweet iron naturally rusts into a light patina. The rust creates a sweet taste for the horse,
making the bit more acceptable and increasing salivation for a supple mouth.

light cues, or for riders who are still learning to quiet their hands. The Ribbon Snaffle falls in between
a smooth snaffle and twisted snaffle in aggressiveness. It is a great choice for most horses as it acts most
like a smooth snaffle, but has a tad bit more control if needed. Sweet iron naturally rusts into a light
The Solid Sweet Iron Medium Port with Copper Roller is a good mouthpiece for the nervous horse
salivation, allowing the bit to move more smoothly in the horse’s mouth. The 7” S cheeks have a fair
amount of leverage for lift and collection. Reinsman’s Golden Glide bushings enhance the smoothness of
the independent cheek movement allowing for more precise cues. This bit is very versatile, making this a
great choice for many styles of riding. Copper is a soft metal, check for signs of wear before each use.

BITS.
Reinsman’s Stride Right bit is quickly becoming one of our favorite bits due to its great versatility. No
matter what style of riding or type of horse, this bit just seems to fit perfectly. From penners, cutters,
and reiners, to trail riders and gaited horses the Stride Right is easily accepted by all. The 1/2” Copper
Modified Billy Allen is a great all around mouthpiece and the perfect choice for a horse with a low
palate. Reinsman’s Modified Billy Allen has more mullen relief than the standard Billy Allen giving it
an ergonomic fit resulting in soft and even pressure across the tongue, bars and lips. The center barrel
has limited movement preventing the bit from scissoring down into the tongue or up into the palate,
but has plenty of rotation. The copper increases salivation for a more supple mouth. And, the sharp
looking 7 1/2” Flat Cheeks add the right amount of leverage. Combined with the Modified Billy Allen
it is easy to isolate each side of the horse’s mouth for lift, bend, flex and collection. Reinsman’s Golden
more precise cues. This bit is very versatile, making this a great choice for any style of riding. Copper is
The Lifter is a great choice for a horse that likes to lean on the bit. It encourages the horse to give at the
bridle and drop his shoulders in turns. The 3-piece ergonomically designed mouthpiece results in even
pressure across the tongue and bars, and combined with the Lifter shank, creates more leverage on the
corners of the mouth and the lips. Reinsman’s Sweet & Sour mouthpiece causes increased salivation,
leading to a more relaxed jaw and a supple mouth. Copper is a soft metal, check for signs of wear before
The Trigger Training Gag is an excellent resource to soften and supple horses of all ages and stages of
body position both laterally and longitudinally. For the greener horse the Trigger Bit supports suppleness
while at the same time introduces curb pressure to aid in the biting process. For maximum effect
the Trigger Training Gag should be complimented with the leather Cowboy German Martingale to aid
The Good On You Competition Gag is a great choice for horses that need additional control and rein
the rider to handle the horse without stalling the front end, which often happens when a horse is over
bridled. The bit should be adjusted with an aggressive wrinkle and 2 finger adjustment at the curb.
Proper adjustment is critical in maximizing the resource of the bit. The design of the Good On You
Competition Gag allows the rider to control the horses speed while maintaining body control without
sacrificing forward motion. Designed to support and enhance suppleness and feel on horses in all
disciplines.

When Reinsman and I sat down to design this saddle for mounted
shooters – I had three requirements: 1. It had to fit the horse,
2. I wanted it to put mounted shooters in the proper position, and
3. I wanted the horn to be short and out of the way. What we
ended up with was all of those things, and much more.
~ Rock Clark
Rock Clark’s Design Philosophy: I designed this saddle for all levels of mounted shooters. It has a classic western look,
but it puts the rider into the correct position for shooting as soon as you sit in it. When we shoot – we’re trying to do a lot of
things at once, and I wanted a saddle that beginning shooters could feel secure in, and top shooters would just love to ride. No
more fighting your saddle to keep your feet forward, secure enough that you can focus on your shooting and not have to worry
about your body position – because this saddle helps hold you there – and it just feels natural. The short, forward angled horn
minimizes the likelihood of getting your gun leather caught or revolver knocked out from the tall horns we have always been
forced to deal with. And to top it all off – this is just a good looking functional saddle. If we want to give the horses a break and
hit the trail, or I want to start training on a new horse – it works just as well for that as for mounted shooting.
horse’s back. An additional ½” of closed cell breathable foam padding fills in the horse’s hollow wither
pocket for better saddle fit. The close contact design provides maximum comfort and feel for the horse
and rider. These pads are made with the new Performance Enhancing Plus Concept that provides
freedom of shoulder movement for comfort and length of stride. Tacky Too® bottom.

correctly on my horse. My Freedom Fit Pad is the answer! A layer of memory foam contours under the
bars of the saddle creating a ‘nest’ that allows the saddle skirts to stablize on the wool body of the pad.
No more rolling saddles! This pad is made from high quality wool felt for the ultimate in protection
and comfort for your horse. I use this pad every day both in training and competition. I hope you enjoy
Maximum Pressure Relief
Wool Felt - 1” Thick with Oil Tanned Wear Leathers
Designed to contour and cushion while maintaining support, Reinsman’s MPR Pad is the new pad
of choice for the broad shouldered horse. A viscoelastic hex cell actively adapts to the unique shape
of the horse’s shoulder reducing pressure points caused by the bars of the saddle. By allowing proper
alignment of the bars along the horse’s back, bar pressure is equalized allowing unrestricted movement
of the shoulders and increasing range of motion.
