Regional Park
2012 Photographic
Competition Winner
Announced!
Douglas Nicholson of Greenock
has won £250 in this year’s
‘Capturing Creativity in Clyde
Muirshiel’ Photographic
Competition with his image
‘Waterside Cottage’. Regional Park
Manager Charlie Woodward said
“the judges felt this was a strong
image, enhanced by presenting the
picture in black and white. The eye
is drawn to the cottage focus of the
photo by the lines of the roadside
and the horizon. The variety of
cloud formations provides extra
interest”. You can see this and a
selection of images in the
exhibition, on display at Muirshiel
Visitor Centre from 8th December.
Stargazing Continues
at Muirshiel Centre
The Winter Stargazing Evenings
at the Regional Park’s dark sky
18
location got off to a bang with a
spectacularly clear night on Friday
26th October. Over 50 people were
treated to great views of the moon,
constellations and other night sky
features over some tasty hot
chocolate. Thanks to STV
weatherman Sean Batty &
weathergirl Sian for predicting the
clear skies!
