Kitting: Pre-assembled, Pre-fi tted, Customised FttX Solutions
as customised, preassembled
units, making their deployment
easier and faster. Kitting not only integrates products, it simplifi es the procedures
required to install them. This further lessens technicians’ workloads,
accelerates the installation process, reduces the investment per home and
increases the total installation capacity.
With the Kitting option, Emtelle can combine products to create value beyond
the sum of the individual parts: we put more value in the box and take
more labour out of it. We have established a dedicated unit that will be
responsible for the complete and timely delivery of Kitting products, which
Emtelle provides FttX solutions that signifi cantly reduce day-one Capital Expenses (CapEx). In the
period 2005-2009, Emtelle has reduced CapEx per connected home by more than 35%. This reduction
has been achieved as a result of : easier and faster installation, lower skill sets and reduced
manpower required – they all lower initial investment. To these can be added another innovative
way in which Emtelle reduces CapEx for its customers: Kitting. In Kitting, products are put together
