REQUIREMENTS This state of the art design is: inexpensive, easy to install, ADA approved, title 24 applicable, easily replaceable, and has a longwearing, heat treated, extruded aluminum base; plus a durable safety surface, color coordinated surfaces available, and glow-in-the-dark capability. The anti-slip surface, Flex-Tred, is chemically bonded onto the extrusion with an adhesive matrix that is capable of 7.3 lbs. per sq. in. peel strength – PSTC-1. The abrasive surface has an underside with a uniform application of high tack permanent type acrylic pressure-sensitive adhesive. The tread base is made of Alloy 6063-T5 extruded aluminum, with a 5/32" thickness minimum. The safety treads are furnished straight and free from defects. All exposed aluminum will have a satin-lacquered finish. Compound adheres to most types of stair treads; wood, concrete, steel, marble, etc. No primer required. Directions for mixing are shown on the drum.
