The purpose <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> community calender is to assist community groups with <strong>the</strong> distribution <strong>of</strong> materials and create awareness about <strong>the</strong> group itself.<br />

All non-pr<strong>of</strong>it, community based groups are invited to post upcoming events, program registrations, festivals, community picnics, fundraisers or just about<br />

any o<strong>the</strong>r activity that your group is undertaking. Deadline to submit items for <strong>the</strong> Summer <strong>County</strong> Quarterly is Friday, May 3, <strong>2013</strong> by email:<br />

<strong>Antigonish</strong> Celtics Soccer Club provides soccer players aged 4 to senior in <strong>Antigonish</strong> and surrounding area an opportunity to<br />

learn, play, and develop regardless <strong>of</strong> age, gender or ability. To ensure that <strong>the</strong>se opportunities are granted in a safe, fun and<br />

progressive manner while encouraging development in <strong>the</strong> sport <strong>of</strong> soccer. Tier III soccer (house league) runs for 10 weeks and<br />

typically starts mid May till <strong>the</strong> end <strong>of</strong> July. Tier II soccer (competitive teams) begin tryouts in April and games run till <strong>the</strong> end <strong>of</strong><br />

<strong>Antigonish</strong> C@P Site Do you have a smart phone or tablet that you would like to learn how to use? Visit <strong>the</strong> <strong>Antigonish</strong>, Havre<br />

Boucher or St. Joseph's C@P Site and one <strong>of</strong> our Trainers will be happy to assist you. <strong>Antigonish</strong> C@P staff are currently digitizing<br />

to know more about this project..<br />

Eastern Highlands Special Olympics provides sports training, recreation and competition for children and adults with an intellectual<br />

disability. A variety <strong>of</strong> sports are <strong>of</strong>fered throughout <strong>the</strong> year, including bowling, track and field, swimming, Masters, soccer and<br />

floor hockey. More information can be obtained on <strong>the</strong> provincial website www.sons.ca or by contacting Joan Conrad (863-6925)<br />

<strong>Antigonish</strong> <strong>County</strong> Adult Learning Association (ACALA) is a community, not-for-pr<strong>of</strong>it organization. We have provided adult and<br />

family learning opportunities to over 2,200 learners since 1994. Our main <strong>of</strong>fice is located in <strong>the</strong> People’s Place Library in <strong>the</strong><br />

town <strong>of</strong> <strong>Antigonish</strong>, but we regularly provide programs in a variety <strong>of</strong> sites in <strong>Antigonish</strong> <strong>County</strong>. We believe “everyone is a lifelong<br />

Pomquet Acadian Trails Enjoy <strong>the</strong> 5km coastal and inland Pomquet Acadian Trail in Monk’s Head, Pomquet. Magnificent view <strong>of</strong><br />

St. George’s Bay, Cape George and Monk’s Head cliffs. The inland trail weaves through forests <strong>of</strong> various ages, including 100-150<br />

year old pine trees, Info on Chez Deslauriers and Pomquet Development Society can be found at www.pomquet.net or call<br />

<strong>Antigonish</strong> Heritage Museum Monday through Friday 10am–12pm & 1pm–5pm. Our display rooms feature exhibits <strong>of</strong> material<br />

culture <strong>of</strong> <strong>Antigonish</strong> Town and <strong>County</strong>. We have a resource room that <strong>of</strong>fers a wide range <strong>of</strong> genealogical resources. This may<br />
