Hello CNH Bees!
Happy November! As this month leads into
cooler weather, crispy leaves, and more
service opportunities I hope you take the
chance to plan a project! With the holiday
season just around the corner, this is your
time to get the Kiwanis Family together to
plan a project! From food drives and soup
kitchens, to cleaning up a park the service
opportunities don’t end. Since it is Kiwanis
Family month bee sure to talk to your
sponsoring Kiwanis Club on doing a project
together!
November also marks the halfway point of the
Key Club year. From April through October,
our district has reached amazing heights!
From all of the service that we have done, to
reaching 46,072 members for the 2011-2012
Key Club fiscal year we are continually
striving to reach our goals. Since it is the
halfway point, I would like to highlight just
some of the amazing things our district board
has done on your behalf. The InfiniBEEs have
provided you with resources through the
District Newsletter, updates to the CyberKey
and valuable workshops at all Region Training
Conference. The District Board has also
created many new materials for your use such
as the Universal Sign-In Sheet and updating
all contest and award applications for this
year. The District Convention theme has been
chosen and logistics continue to be worked
out so that we can all come together and
celebrate our million reasons to serve in
March. Each of our Lt. Governors, appointed
board members, and executives have been
busy bees serving you!
With six more months until convention, our
district has just enough time to reach
phenomenal heights! I would like to remind
you of our district goals to
b e c o m p l e t e d b y
Convention in March:
46,000 members, 800,000
hours of service, and
$154,000 for the Pediatric
Trauma Program. Please
continue to work toward
accomplishing our goals
this month by planning a
project, volunteering, and
encouraging your club secretary to turn in the
club’s Monthly Report Form.
I would love to hear about all of the amazing
Kiwanis Family projects that you do this
month! If you ever have any questions,
comments, or concerns please do not hesitate
to contact me.
Hello CNH!
Throughout October, I received the opportunity
to meet many of you through Region Training
Conferences. I hope you enjoyed the
experience as much as I did as the amount of
spirit for service was inspiring. I also hope the
information and various workshops presented
were helpful. Fall Rally North was a blast, and I
look forward to attending Fall Rally South!
In addition, Key Club Week is coming up!
November 5-9 is a special duration to celebrate Key Club and all of
the wonderful opportunities it provides. The theme for Monday is
“Show your K in every way”. Basically, publicize and promote Key
Club. Tuesday is “Kudos to the Key players”. This day is about
thanking the supporters and advisors who make Key Club possible.
Wednesday represents “Connect the Ks” in which Key Clubbers
associate with the Kiwanis family including Circle K, Builders Club,
and Aktion clubs. For Thursday, “Bring a friend to Key Club”; this
is a day for you to introduce Key Club to a friend or two. And
Friday “Your way” is the day for clubs to focus on a project and
integrate activities from other Key Club days.
Remember that our district goals are raising $154,000 for Pediatric
Trauma Program (PTP), reaching 46,000 members, and serving
800,000 hours of community service. Together, we can make a
difference and achieve our goals that give us a million reasons to
serve.
Secretaries, continue keeping up the great work, communicating
with your Lieutenant Governor, Kiwanis Sponsor, and club board.
Remember this is the time to work with your club’s treasurer in
order to create a club roster. Continue to complete your Monthly
Report Form in a timely manner as accurately as you can. Your job
is crucial not only to the success of the club you serve, but also to
our District and Key Club as a whole as we are able to document
our progress in reaching our district goals. Enjoy this month of
Thanksgiving, fun, and service!
Hello CNH BEEs!
November is
finally here! As the
weather starts to
change remember
to stay warm and
healthy. This
month has a lot of
activities and
things going on. I
hope everyone is
ready for Thanksgiving and realizes
that this will be a great time to give
back to the community. If you need
help thinking of any fundraisers or
want to start a November
Thanksgiving event, let me know (:
Also remember that this month dues
will be sent to Key Club International.
Make sure you pay your club dues
and give your information to the club
secretary, so they can process the
dues by November 20th to meet the
December 1st dues deadline for ontime
status and be eligible for the
retention award. Thank you for all of
your patience with the membership
update center and with the transition
between the old and new process. I
also want to thank all of the clubs
that have been pushing to fundraise
for the Pediatric Trauma Program
and all of the hard work you are
doing. Remember that if we continue
to work hard we will be able to reach
our goal of $154,000 for PTP. If you
have anything you want to talk about
please call, email, or contact me in
any way and I will be happy to help
you with anything.
A Word from your
Sergeant at Arms Coordinators
The California-Nevada-Hawaii Sergeant at Arms Team consists of the two SAA Coordinators and
the two SAA Mentors. They take the responsibility of educating all members on the Code of
Conduct and enforcing it during Key Club events, especially District Convention. Overall, they
promote a general atmosphere of safety and maintain the integrity of Key Club International.
Hello CNH Bees,
My name is Josef
Madrigal, and I am
one of your
Sergeant at Arms
Coordinators for
this year. Unlike
previous years, the
Sergeant at Arms
Coordinators are
not Lieutenant Governors; this means that
I am just a Key Club member like many of
you. I am honored to have this position.
Two years ago during District Convention
in Anaheim, California, I began to fall in
love with Key Club; I decided to do as
much as I can to help our wonderful
organization. As the SAA Coordinator this
year, I will be able to help other members
feel the way that I felt by ensuring that
they are free from any form of danger or
discomfort. By performing my duties to the
best of my ability, I hope that I can inspire
many of you to be the best that you could
possibly be.
I am so excited for the rest of my term,
and I cannot wait to meet many of you
during District Convention.
Hello, Cal-Nev-Ha Key
Clubbers,
My name is Vyvy Hoang
and I will be serving as
your 2012-2013 Sergeant
at Arms Task Coordinator.
Well, most of you
might say: “What is
Sergeant at Arms?”
Sergeants at Arms, or for
short SAAs, are volunteers at District
Convention that help out by checking on Dress
Code, the Code of Conduct, and Key Club
International’s policies.
I joined Key Club my freshman year and started
to attend District Convention every year from
then on. Over the years, I realized that Key
Club has given me such wonderful
opportunities, and I have made it my goal to
give back to Key Club by trying to give the
members an enjoyable and safe time during
District Convention. I hope to not only help but
also inspire others to realize that there are
many waves out there, you just have to keep
trying.
I am looking forward to working with all the
members who are going to sign up to become
an SAA at District Convention when Online
Registration for DCON opens up.
Key Club Week
Reminders
Hello Cali-Nev-Ha Buzzin’ Bees!
The Member Relations Committee
hopes that you all have enjoyed
your few months of school so far.
This is just a reminder that Key
Club Week (11/05/12-11/09/12) is
right around the corner. We
encourage you to participate in the
Key Club Week activities in your
school and to have your members
join in the festivities. As far as
reminders go, please continue to
advertise the week to all of your
peers and even make it into a
school-wide event! Have all of the
necessary paperwork (Event
Request Forms (ERFs), fundraiser
request forms, media release
forms, etc.) filled out if you have
not done so. The epitome of Key
Club is about to come knocking on
your door step! A whole week
dedicated to the celebration of Key
Club International and all of our
accomplishments so far? It can’t
get any better than this.
November 5th – Monday
Show Your K In Every Way
Key Club Week
You can wear your favorite Key Club gear: pins, lanyards, shirts,
sweaters. Take the next step by putting on spirit gear and cheering
around the school. Let that spirit emanate throughout the whole
school building. Even your club can post Key Club flyers all over
your school! Show that you are absolutely proud to be a part of this
amazing organization!
November 6th – Tuesday
Kudos to the Key Players
This is the day where you give thanks and show your appreciation to
those that support Key Club. Make your sponsoring Kiwanis Club a
gift basket, create a thank you card for your faculty advisor, cook
some breakfast for the teachers that act as chaperones, and do as
much as you can for those who have made a KEY difference within
your club!
November 7th – Wednesday
Connect the K’s
K-Kids, Builders, KIWIN’S, Circle K, and Kiwanis- all the K’s should get
together on this day. Attend your sponsoring Kiwanis’ meeting or
create a joint service project with your local Circle K. Stop by the
local Builders Club or read to the little ones in K-Kids.
November 8th – Thursday
Bring a Friend to Key Club
Invite potential members to Key Club so they can see what we’re
all about. Maybe reintroduce a friend to the wonderful world of
Key Club so they can rekindle their passion for service. Show off our
core values of inclusiveness and caring to get all those new
members excited to join Key Club!
November 9th – Friday
Your Way
Hold a service project, maybe repeat a day, plan a social – let your
creativity flow by doing it your own way. This is your chance to
invigorate the club with an idea that has been flowing through your
mind all year long. You know what they say; they save the best day
for last!
What are you waiting for?! Celebrate Key Club Week this November!
What is Maternal and
Neonatal Tetanus?
In 34 countries around the world,
maternal and neonatal tetanus
(MNT) can quickly turn the joy of
childbirth into tragedy. MNT kills
one baby every nine minutes. Its
effects are excruciating — tiny
newborns suffer repeated, painful
convulsi ons and extreme
sensitivity to light and touch.
There is little hope of survival.
Tetanus does not only kill
newborns, but their mothers too.
MNT is caused when tetanus
spores, found in soil everywhere,
come into contact with open
cuts during childbirth. The disease
strikes the poorest of the poor, the
geographically hard to reach
and those without health care.
Maternal and neonatal tetanus
represents a very high proportion
of the total tetanus disease
b u r d e n d u e m a i n l y t o
i n a d e q u a t e i m m u n i z a t i o n
services, limited or absent clean
delivery services and improper
post-partum cord care. The
majority of mothers and newborns
dying of tetanus live in Africa and
Southern and East Asia, generally
in areas where women are poor,
have little access to health care,
and have little information about
safe delivery practices.
What is the Eliminate Project?
The Eliminate Project is a union
between Kiwanis International
and UNICEF, two world renowned
organizations. Since 2010, these
two organizations have come together
to serve with one goal in mind: to
eliMiNaTe maternal and neonatal tetanus (MNT). This deadly disease steals the lives of
nearly 60,000 innocent babies and a significant number of women each year. The
effects of the disease are excruciating— tiny newborns suffer repeated, painful
convulsions and extreme sensitivity to light and touch. To eliMiNaTe MNT from the
Earth, more than 60 million mothers and their future babies must be immunized,
requiring vaccines, syringes, safe storage, and more. It will take US$110 million and the
dedicated work of UNICEF and every member of the Kiwanis Family to eliMiNaTe MNT.
How can you help? With only US$1.80, this money protects one mother and her future
children. Donate to our battle against this disease now!
How can your Key Club get involved?
Educate.
Reach out using social media with news, stories, and inspiration
to motivate members and non-members
Tell members about the Eliminate Project at meetings.
Share photos, videos, and presentations
Invite health professionals, Eliminate Project officials, or Kiwanis members
to club meetings to talk about the dangers of MNT and the Eliminate Project.
Explain the positive impact the Kiwanis family is making and
the plan to eliMiNaTe!
Give.
One of the best ways is to give gifts!
Gifts from local fundraisers, local businesses and companies
Pledges from your club treasury, individual club members
Pledges from within your Kiwanis family
Serve.
Host events for mothers in the community
Host a community baby shower for an organization that supports new mothers.
Host a concert or breakfast for local mothers.
Search for local outreach programs at local hospitals, schools, and daycares.
The Eliminate Project is the Kiwanis
Family's biggest campaign for children
yet. This shows how passionate UNICEF
and each Service Leadership Program
under Kiwanis International are in
expanding their limits and dedicating
themselves to making the world a better
place. As a member of Key Club, you are
a part of one of the many Service
Leadership Programs under Kiwanis
International and you contribute to this
grand project of serving children in
countries across the world.
Candidate Training
Conferences
Interested in running
for Lieutenant Governor
or District Office?
Make sure to attend the annual Candidate Training
Conferences (CTC)! Here, you will get a better idea of
the duties of the office you’re interested in as well as
prepare for the real election. Preparation ranges from
asking questions to the current officers to answering
questions in a mock caucus to giving a short speech.
This one-day training is a great deciding factor in
determining whether you want to become a
candidate or not, so take the opportunity while you
can! The Lt. Governor Conference will be held on
December 1st, 2012 and the District Officer
Conference will be held on January 12th, 2013. These
are not mandatory events for candidates but are
highly recommended and helpful.
On top of all the training that will take place, you’ll
have the chance to meet a number of potential
candidates in your area! With them, you can share
your reasons for being interested, ideas to prepare for
elections, and general thoughts about the whole
thing.
Do you hear that ringing in your ear? That’s an alarm
telling you that you should attend Candidate Training
Conference! So, what are you waiting for? Head on
over to the CNH CyberKey for more information on
the conferences. Stay posted for updates on time,
locations, and registration.
Pass the Policy:
142.2 Election Procedures
Anyone who has been a paid member of a club in good
standing for at least four month may run for Lt. Governor at
the Division Conclave. At the election, each candidate will
present a speech and answer questions. Up to two delegates
from each club will participate in voting, and the candidate
with the majority of votes will be elected. The Lt. Governor
Elect will not begin his/her term until the last day of District
Convention. Understanding the process of this election is not
only important for the candidates but also for all members
who want a general sense of the club, district, and
international elections as well. If you’re interested in learning
more about how you can run for office or even just participate
as a delegate at this election, contact your current Lt.
Governor for more information or refer to the District Policy
Surf Lessons:
Active Appreciation
With our terms as officers already
halfway complete, it is crucial that we
appreciate the support given to us.
From the quiet member that waves to
you in the hallway during passing
period to the loud applause given to
you as you walk up stage and receive
your award, the impact that
recognition brings is limitless. It is
even more important to distinguish
select individuals for their hard work
by observing this phenomenon. Every
member and supporter out there
deserves a round of applause, and
here are some ways to help you out:
Member of the Month –
Do you have a member in your club
that attended every single service
project, meeting, and social that you
held in the month? Is he or she going
BEEyond the call to service and
taking the time out his or her
schedule to help the community?
Would you like to show how fantastic
this individual is? Incorporate the
“Member of the Month” into your club
a c t i v i t i e s t o s u r p r i s e t h e s e
outstanding students! Highlight the
person at your club meeting and give
them a certificate along with some
other incentive such as a candy bar or
a miniature spirit stick. This goes a
long way for some people because
this may be the first time they have
ever received recognition. It gives
the member something to show for all
of their hard work. You can even
incorporate this at a support-level
with your chaperones and advisors
because they deserve just as much
love as the members do. Instead of
giving them a candy bar, try giving
them a scented candle or a gift card
to the local diner.
Appreciation Dinner –
This event can be used to recognize
all individuals that support us along
our Key Club journey, which includes
members, advisors, chaperones,
parents, and guardians. Take one
day out of the week to host an
appreciation dinner at your local
restaurant (or have them cater at
your school). Your agenda for this
event should include invitations made
for the designated individuals that
you want to honor, a recognition
ceremony where you can have
specific individuals come up front and
talk about their experience so far and
how much of an impact Key Club has
made on them, and maybe even a
performance that can lighten the
mood and provide some humor for
the audience.
Random Acts of Kindness –
This idea was proposed by some
schools in the district. This has such
a broad meaning to it, but Random
Acts of Kindness aim to catch the
members by surprise and just give
them a special thank you. These acts
range anywhere from giving them
goodie bags in their classes along
with a thank-you note to performing a
flash mob for a teacher during lunch
highlighting his or her actions that
have helped your club along the way.
Random Acts of Kindness gears
students more towards the ideas of
recognizing others rather than
specifics. Remember, it is the
thought that counts!
Impact on your
Community
By this time of year, many Key
Club members struggle for many
reasons ranging anywhere from
the rigor that comes with an
intense schedule to the overload
of other extracurricular activities
and sports. However, the
Member Relations Committee
would like to take a moment to
encourage all of you to keep
pushing through. The impact that
the California-Nevada-Hawaii
District makes is all thanks to
you. Without the countless
service hours that you contribute
building houses for the homeless
and delivering care packages to
our everyday heroes, the brilliant
ideas flowing through your minds
and out onto the table to make
events even bigger and better,
and the superior support that you
give to each and every individual
out there so that they can
continue to strive for the best,
the CNH District would not be
where it stands tall and proud
today. All it takes is one person
to make a difference in their
community, and that certainly is
you. So please keep your heads
held high regardless of any
situation you may be facing right
now and fight on because the
CNH District knows that you are
impacting the community one
person at a time.
Art Walk on the Bay
BY ALVIN HO| DIVISION 37 SOUTH | WESTVIEW
This event was quite a bit different from
many of the events I attended. On
September 23rd, 2012, the Art Walk on
the Bay was about to come to a close.
Westview Key Club volunteers were
assigned to help artists take down their
artwork, take down signs, and help load
artists’ belongings into their cars.
Unfortunately volunteers were not
allowed to handle the artists’ artwork
PTP Car Wash
BY CATHERINE KIM| DIVISION 44 SOUTH
| FOLSOM
On Saturday, October 13, 2012 Folsom
High School’s Key Club held a car
wash to fundraise
money for PTP.
Starting from 9am to
1pm they worked
washing cars and had
polite conversations
with people from the
Folsom community.
The club separated into
four groups: sign
holders, hose sprayers,
soapers, and dryers.
They all worked
diligently and did their
best to make sure the
cars were shiny clean.
They were not sure if
many people were
due to an incident that happened
a few years ago where a volunteer
ruined an artist’s work. However, it
was still amazing to see all the
artistic talent that was present at the
event. Many of the volunteers,
including myself, got to know some
of the artists quite well, and that was
the difference between this event
and many others. Towards the end
of the event, an artist who a couple
of volunteers had been helping for
quite a while was very appreciative
when he was finally able to get his
stuff together. He even gave those
volunteers, including myself, some of
his artwork for free. One volunteer,
who had helped him for at least an
hour received a thank you gift from
the artist in the form of a fairly large
painting. A week later, that same
artist emailed the event coordinator
saying how helpful Westview
volunteers were! I was very proud
to have been a part of that
experience!
going to show up because of the
change in the weather but many
people were interested in getting a
car wash. With the pre-sale tickets,
regular fees, donations and tips the
club earned two hundred and fortyeight
dollars by the
end of the day. The
club’s goal was to
raise at least two
hundred dollars so
they were very glad
they exceeded their
goal. Folsom High
School’s Key Club was
overall very satisfied
with the great success
they had the car
wash. They plan to
have more fundraisers
and another car wash
this year to fundraise
money for PTP.
Region 04 Training
Conference
BY CHARLIE ORILLOSA| DIVISION 06 NORTH
ELEANOR ROOSEVELT
RTC, Region Training Conference,
was filled with friendly, enthusiastic,
new, and familiar faces that
consisted of the members from
Division 6 North, Division 6 South,
Division 36 West, Division 36 East, and
Division 47. As a Region, we officially
met our LTGs; Lily Lewis, Grace Hong,
Art Lopez, Isabella Chu, Nivita Malhi,
and our special guest, Lloyd Chen
(District Treasurer). During RTC, we
had many fun and informational
w o r k s h o p s ; K e y C l u b 1 0 1 ,
Fundraising, Member Relations, and
Officer Workshops. There were also
multiple icebreakers that showed
inclusiveness. We even got to know
each other by eating pizza, chips,
and water.
As expected, the conference was
very informative, but I did more than
just learn. I met new people and got
to know people that I already do.
The ice breakers truly broke the ice
between not only our division, but
our entire region. Never have I felt so
close to people I just met, and I know
that Key Club is my home.
Special Olympics
BY MATTHEW LOW| DIVISION 5 | CLOVIS NORTH
This month, Clovis North High School
successfully hosted its annual Special
Olympics over at its home track. Special
Olympics is a school event where
mentally disabled students are able to
participate in exhilarating Olympic style
events hosted by the school. It is
typically held once a year and is a great
opportunity for student volunteers, like
key clubbers, to help the school
community. The reason for hosting the
Special Olympics is to provide disabled
students with the rare, fun chance to
engage in exciting sports that they are
usually unable to participate in. Even for
both Kapa'a High School Key Club and
Kauai High School Key Club gathered to
partake in "Kelly Day" in honor of our
Lieutenant Governor, Kelly Soares. Before
the festivities began, members from both
clubs met at Lydgate Beach to help remove
one thousand pounds of driftwood and
garbage from the waters. Members then
met up at Kauai High School where they
were divided into teams and took part in fun
ice breakers and heard many inspirational
words from guest speakers. They also
participated in service projects such as
painting banners, packing cards from the
Kauai Food Bank, and designing and
decorating donation boxes to be used in a
later service project. They then enjoyed a
good laugh and some fun entertainment by
creating and presenting skits. The friends,
fun, love, laughs, and memories will never be
forgotten by the members who spent a day
with the LTG of Division 22.
those who are disabled, everyone
should be given the chance to have
over 50 excited Clovis North key
clubbers will volunteer precious time
out of their busy school schedules to
help pack lunches for these special
education students, from anywhere
between 1 – 3 hours. This month, all
the lunches key clubbers carefully
packed were appreciatively (and
very gladly) eaten by the special
education kids. Clovis North key
clubbers greatly enjoyed providing
assistance to all the special
education kids and putting a smile on
many of their faces. A smile that does
Piedmont Harvest Festival
BY TAYLOR CHOW| DIVISION 2 | PIEDMONT
On September 30th, Piedmont Key
C l u b b e r s v o l u n t e e r e d a t
Piedmont’s annual Harvest Festival
at the Piedmont Community
Center.
Imagine a long parking lot full of
tables and canopies. Children of
every age running everywhere with
smudged sunscreen marks still
visible on their skin. All you can
hear is the laughter of children and
their parents mingling with other
families. You can smell the
sweetness of the fresh cakes as you
walk by the cakewalk. You can
feel the hot sun beating down on
your skin. As you walk further you
can almost taste the burgers
cooking on the grill.
The Harvest Festival is an event in
Piedmont where kids get to enjoy
playing carnival games such as
balloon darts, participate in the
cakewalk and much more. Kids
many of these physically and
mentally challenged kids. During the
Special Olympics, all the key clubbers
who helped out were thrilled to see
the special education kids having a
blast in the various events that took
place on the track: the thrill on each
of their faces was priceless. In
addition, key clubbers had a great
chance to socialize and get to know
each other better in detail. Overall,
the Special Olympics at Clovis North
this year was successful once again,
and Clovis North’s key clubbers had
another awesome time volunteering
while also making an impact within
the school community.
can participate in small craft
projects like decorating a mini
pumpkin. Families get to look at
all the unique scarecrows made
by elementary school classes.
There’s also a live band in the
park for people to relax and
enjoy the day.
This yea r , Ke y C lub bers
volunteered at the food station
serving food to the many families
that were at the festival. Allyson
Chan worked behind the scenes
by helping prepare the plates,
while Jonathan Khuu and Jamie
Chow helped serve salads to the
customers who opted for a lighter
meal. On the other end of the
table, Taylor Chow helped serve
hot dogs, hamburgers and other
foods to the long line of families.
Whether one was volunteering or
just hanging out with friends, the
Harvest Festival was a lot of fun
Region 16 Training Conference
BY HYUNSU JUNG | DIVISION 07 SOUTH | SHELDON
Region Training Conference
is always a fun event, for
those aspiring to be officers
and for those who want to
just learn more about Key
Club. Personally, I was
planning to run for Vice
President for my club and I
wanted to learn more about
my current duties as
Treasurer, so I decided that
that RTC was the place to
go!
On Saturday September
29th, we rolled up at
Pleasant Grove High School
looking forward to a day of
meeting new people and
learning new things. We
started off with the opening
rally and after that, the
workshops got started!
I started off with the Vice
President Workshop, since I
was interested in being VP
for Sheldon’s Key Club next
year. I learned a lot about
the duties required as Vice
President and took note
that as VP one needed to
be the “adhesive glue” of
the board.
After that workshop, I
attended the How to Be
Less Awkward Workshop,
hosted by the awesome
Stanton Rucker! It was a
really interesting workshop,
but instead of being a “less
awkward” workshop, it
seemed more like a How to
Be Creepy Workshop.
The last workshop I
a t t e n d e d w a s t h e
Fundraising Workshop,
where I learned many things
that would help me as
treasurer this year. I picked
up a lot of tips about how to
p l a n a n d e x e c u t e
fundraisers and I also
learned a lot of new
fundraising ideas that I
could put to use for my own
club.
Overall, Region Training
Conference was a great
learning experience, and I
am definitely looking
forward to going again next
year!
Region 07
Training Conference
BY ZHITONG QIU | DIVISION 03 SOUTH | JOHN MARSHALL
As a new Key Clubber, having the RTC as one of the first
events I attended, everything seems so crazy. But crazy
in a energetic-fun way that gets all your blood pumped
up. It was early to wake up so early on a Saturday but
once arriving, I felt more excited as the day started with
meeting new friendly faces. The place was filled with
busy "bees" and you can actually feel everyone's high
spirit in the air. I absolutely loved the whole positive
atmosphere around me.
The conference started with a great encouraging
message and cheers. The workshops really gave me
insights of what Key Club was all about and how the
clubs inspire everyone. I learned a great deal about the
District Projects and saw before my own eyes a ripple
effect. It was amazing and I wanted to see more of
these acts of kindness.
I wish I joined Key Club sooner; I feel as this club is a
perfect fit for me because I love the smiles rewarded
from volunteering at different places and I really want to
help improve the world one step at a time. I can't wait to
inspire as well as BEE inspired! I'm ready to make an
impact in the world because one tiny step can really
start a ripple or maybe a huge wave (of service!). I'm so
glad I went to the Region 7 Training Conference and I
can honestly say: I am ready to answer the call to
service!
What is
a DCM?
310 West Kaahumanu Avenue | Kahului, HI 96732
A Division Council Meeting (DCM) is a meeting conducted by the respective
Lieutenant Governor for the members in the division. This meeting is full of
information about upcoming events, education about Key Club, and much more.
At DCMs, you have a chance to learn more about various projects and events,
gain a better understanding of how great this organization truly is, and to get
involved with the division and meet new people.
We encourage you to attend so that you can learn more about what’s been
happening in Key Club. Some DCMs are even joined with a service project,
fundraiser, or social, so you can be there for more than one reason!
