Donna Ryan Retiring After 38 Years
After 38 years of teaching, Donna Ryan, Isham
Second Grade Teacher, is retiring on March 1.
Donna has taught kindergarten or second grade
students throughout her career. While at W.C.S.
she has taught in both Isham and Overlook.
When asked what she will do on Tuesday, March
1, she replied, “I want to sleep until I wake up!”
Donna said the biggest change she has seen in
students over her 38 years is they are now more worldly. Students travel and experience
more than previous generations.
We will miss you, Donna, and wish you a wonderful retirement!
Calamity Days in Excess of Three
The school calendar adopted on February 8, 2010 states: “If
necessary, calamity days in excess of three will be made at the
end of the school year, beginning May 31, 2011.” Please be
prepared for additional student days.
As you may know, a bill has been introduced in the Ohio
Senate that would return the number of calamity days from
three to five for this school year. At this time, it is still a bill;
and until it becomes law, please do not schedule vacations or other obligations until after
June 10, 2011 to allow for the possibility of more makeup days. At the time of this
publication, if the bill becomes law, we will only have one day to make up, which would
be held on Tuesday, May 31.
