CONAN GETS HIS REVENGE – TWO YEARS LATER
In late September 2011, Conan announced on his relatively-new TBS show that he was going to
officiate over the first same-sex wedding on television – between his costume designer Scott Cronick
and his partner David Gorshein.
The mainstream media covered the story – but not with very much originality.
Fully eighteen different news and entertainment shows, from all different networks, were shown
reading the same script – almost always word-for-word.
The key phrase revealed on Conan’s show was “Conan O’Brien may be about to push the envelope on
late-night television.”
Conan thinly disguised this as comedy – when in fact it was a shocking, unprecedented expose’ of just
how thoroughly centralized and controlled the media really is:

there being seemingly limitless television channels and media sources.
