Iowa in vocal performance. She has a
background in opera and has recently
performed solo and choral works in the
St. Croix Valley area.
Frank Steen is a graduate of
Concordia College, Moorhead, and the
University of Minnesota. He has
appeared as a soloist with the Singers,
and has also been a soloist with church
choirs and in oratorio productions.
Soprano section leader Linda Steen is
also a member of the Hutchinson
Family Singers, a quintet which recreates
concerts of the 1850s and tours
nationwide. She is a soloist at the
Cathedral Church of St. Mark and
periodically performs in Minnesota
Composers Forum concerts. A graduate
of Concordia College in Moorhead,
Linda has also studied at Indiana
University and the Chautauqua Institute
in New York.
Carrie Stevens received her bachelor
of music degree from the University of
Wisconsin-Madison, her master of
music degree from Boston University,
and participated in the 1986 Minnesota
Opera Institute. Winner of the 1986
Twin Cities Schubert Club Competition,
she currently performs with the Minnesota
Opera. Cantante di Camera, and is
a performing artist with Thursday
Musical. Carrie is also serving as alto
soloist and section leader at St. Paul's
House of Hope Presbyterian Church.
Paul A. Theisen is the liturgical music
director at the Church of St. Therese
where he is also a cantor. He has
studied voice privately, and sang with
the Minnesota Chorale before joining
the Singers in 1982.
Denise Wahlin holds a bachelor of
arts degree in English and art from
Concordia College. Moorhead, where
she was a soloist with the Concordia
Choir. She currently teaches at the
secondary level in Buffalo, and is
working toward a master's degree in art
history at the University of Minnesota.
DoneUe Zimdars received her bachelor
of arts degree in vocal music from
Bemidji State University. She has sung
with the Minnetonka Choral Society
and portrayed Abby Hutchinson as a
member of the Hutchinson Family
Singers.
Claudia Zylstra is a graduate of
Calvin College in Grand Rapids, Michigan
where she studied vocal performance
and was active in the choral
program. She has participated in
community choral organizations in
Chicago and in Wisconsin. Prior to
joining the Singers, she was a soloist
and member of the Paul Kaye Singers.
