Infusion is <strong>by</strong> far the simplest method of using an herb. Typically the preparer has already dried the part of the herb to be used – leaves, bark, or root – and now places an amount of it in a drinking vessel. She then pours hot-toboiling water over it and lets the herbal tea steep for a few minutes until it reaches sufficient strength.
