COG–Ottawa Steering Committee recently reviewed the advertisement
rates for Down to Earth and revised them as you will see below.
We have added a combination package for advertisers wishing to place ads in
both Down to Earth and the Organic Food Directory. The Organic Food Directory
and Down to Earth each attract many online viewers. Additionally, Down
to Earth gets prominently displayed at COG-Ottawa’s information booth so
that the public can see the information-packed and attractive newsletter.

Brief listing: $15 for 40 words plus HST of 13%. Members’ price is $10.
HST of 13% applies to all advertisements.

Organic Food Directory
The Organic Food Directory is a tool to connect organic producers
and consumers through our website. All advertisers in the directory
are required to become members of COG–Ottawa.
We invite all organic food producers, processors, retailers, and
restaurants to list their enterprises in order to demonstrate to the
public the vigour of the organic industry in Eastern Ontario and
Western Québec and especially to attract customers.
Producers listing in the Organic Food Directory are required to
meet the following criteria:
• Be Certified Organic OR Declared Organic i.e. products meet the
Organic Standards as published by the Canada Food Inspection
Agency. The Application form includes a signed declaration for
both Certified Organic and Declared Organic producers.
• All vegetable products are produced on land where synthetic
pesticides and fertilizers have not been used for the last three
years.
• All animals are fed 100% organic feeds that meet organic certification
standards, whether they are produced on the farm or
purchased elsewhere.
• Antibiotics, additives, and growth hormones are not used in the
production and processing of meat, dairy, and poultry products.
• Processed products respect the rules for ingredients as stated in
the Organic Standards.
The Organic Food Directory is an effective communication tool and
is very cost-effective. The Organic Food Directory appears on the
COG–Ottawa website and is consulted more and more frequently at
www.cog.ca/ottawa/ottawa-organic-directory. We also publicize
the Directory at our information booth.

31-50 words - $45
51 words to a maximum of 100 words - $70
