The <strong>Albuquerque</strong> Thunderbirds preseason media guide was designed to be the used by media, scouts and the<br />

(NICKNAME’s) opponents. Additional information, including press releases, photography, video footage, and clips, are<br />

available upon request to media. Any questions not covered in the publication can be directed to Sean M. McLaughlin,<br />

MEDIA ACCESS TO LOCKER ROOMS<br />

Team dressing rooms will be open for a 45-minute period ending 45 minutes before the start of the game, with each player<br />

available for 15 minutes during that 45-minute period (e.g., media access shall be granted from 6 P.M., for a 7:30 P.M.<br />

game). Locker rooms will be reopened to the media after the game no later than 10 minutes following the game’s<br />

conclusion and shall remain open to the media for a minimum of thirty (30) minutes.<br />

CREDENTIALS<br />

All members of the Media who hold a D-League Season Credential or Team single game credential shall be afforded all<br />

professional courtesies extended to the Media, including, but not limited to, access to arenas, locker rooms, work rooms and<br />

seating areas. Courtesies are also extended at all League and Team functions that are open to the Media. All Media shall be<br />

seated in press seating areas, consistent with treatment afforded <strong>com</strong>parable media. In all instances, beat writers, columnists,<br />

and League/Team broadcast partners shall be seated in “priority” media seats. In addition, all members of the media will be<br />

offered equal treatment and access to facilities and personnel, regardless of gender.<br />

Credentials are issued to working media only – working press, radio, television, photography and scouting – and must be<br />

visible at all times for access to press row and the press room. Requests must be made in writing on <strong>com</strong>pany letterhead to<br />

Sean M. McLaughlin, Director of Marketing and Communications, <strong>Albuquerque</strong> Thunderbirds, at<br />

Season credentials will be granted only to daily newspapers and television/radio stations that cover the <strong>Albuquerque</strong><br />

Thunderbirds on a regular basis. Requests for season credentials should arrive no later than three weeks before the first<br />

game. Other media outlets will be granted credentials on a single-game, space available basis at the discretion of the team’s<br />

public relations contact. Request for single game credentials should arrive no later than 48 hours prior to the day of the<br />

game. Requests will be evaluated and credentials will be issued according to the following criteria:<br />

1. State newspapers by circulation, wire services, national publications, newspapers from opponent’s area,<br />

photographers, scouts and League Officials.<br />

2. Other than daily newspapers with preference to those which regularly cover the <strong>Albuquerque</strong> Thunderbirds.<br />

3. Radio and television personnel not broadcasting, but considered reporting.<br />

4. Non-daily newspapers, with preference to those which regularly cover the <strong>Albuquerque</strong> Thunderbirds (if space<br />

available).<br />

<strong>NBA</strong> SCOUTING<br />

All <strong>NBA</strong> scouting requests for <strong>NBA</strong> Development League games should be sent via email to Larry Berger at<br />

lberger@nba.<strong>com</strong> (please copy Chris Alpert at calpert@nba.<strong>com</strong>). Requests should be submitted at least 24 hours prior to<br />

the desired game, and by 5 p.m. (ET) on Friday for games on Sunday and Monday to ensure credentials are issued and<br />

proper seating arrangements are made.
