Widely distributed in the Old World tropics, also in Madagascar.<br />
The name is here applied in its broad sense. The <strong>Thai</strong> specimen may better<br />
be referred to L. ulicifolium Ventenat ex Sw. Syn. Fil. 177. 1806.<br />

Widely spread from the Himalayas to Japan through South China, south to<br />
<strong>Thai</strong>land and Indo-China.<br />
In the sense <strong>of</strong> Alston, L. hamiltonii is a species highly polymorphic. It may<br />
be a composite species.<br />
