Institute is at the leading edge of cancer-fighting<br />
technology, offering patients and their doctors a<br />
genetic map to best evaluate treatment options.<br />
Intervention Insights, a <strong>Grand</strong> Rapids-based<br />
pharmacogenomics service provider, takes<br />
personalized medicine one step further by supplying<br />
oncologists with molecular-based analysis to better<br />
match drug therapies to a unique cancer type.<br />
The company markets its decision support tool as an<br />
information service for community-based oncologists<br />
who treat more than 80% of all U.S. cancer patients.<br />
n The average annual investment over the decade is<br />
$138 million. Over the last 5 years, since 2007, the<br />
average annual investment is $176 million.<br />
Recently the company won an “Innovation<br />
Michigan” award from Business Review of West<br />
Michigan and was one of seven finalists out of more<br />
than than 1,700 entries in Amazon Web Services’<br />
annual innovation search. The company has<br />
successfully launched two payer-sponsored clinical<br />
studies and has opened an Investigational Device<br />
Exemption with the FDA in support of its services.<br />
In <strong>2011</strong>, Intervention Insights closed a $7.2<br />
million Series B funding round, including Michigan<br />
venture investors Beringea, Chrysalis Ventures,<br />
Hopen Life Sciences, the Charter Group and the<br />
