Love, Loss and Letting Go
(NEW: full day workshop)
Sunday 10:00 am-4:00 pm
(with breaks; dairy lunch included)
Nov. 25
Most of us think of true love as
unconditional, defying reason,
transcending time, even eternal.
According to King Solomon, true love is
“as strong as death” (Song of Songs 8:6);
for one would willingly die than give it up.
Yet all of us have experienced the loss of
love. Is such loss real or illusory? We
certainly feel and experience its pain. Does
healing from loss require that we forget the
love that was? What does it mean to
mourn the loss of love? The Sages taught
(Moed Katan 25b): “Mourning is for the
living and not for what is lost....”
PRIVATE CONSULTATION
Rabbi Fleer’s unique approach, sometimes
including guided imagery, helps people get
in touch with deep truths about themselves,
release old pain, and open to new
possibilities. Rabbi Fleer creates a safe space
for emotional honesty and subtly brings
awareness of G-d to the healing process.
According to Jewish tradition, the purpose
of mourning is to heal enough to continue
to fully live and participate in life. Loss
can have a broad personal interpretation,
including of a loved one, one's health,
long-time home, wealth, youth, a beloved
pet, or a memory of a time or place
meaningful to only you. Join Rabbi Fleer
in this extraordinary workshop which
includes guided-imagery to explore love
and loss, mourning and living after loss.
inappropriate boldness or rudeness. But it
can also be a complimentary term. Rebbe
Nachman of Breslov explained the
concept of holy chutzpah, the kind of
boldness we each need to have in order to
follow through on our highest intentions
no matter what others may say or think. In
fact, it takes a certain boldness for us, as
finite beings, to open our mouths and pray
to the Creator of the universe. Join Rabbi
Fleer as we explore Rebbe Nachman’s
inspiring teachings on this topic.
