<strong>Geneva</strong> Park District<br />
Night means extra fun at<br />
Elfstrom Stadium<br />
Kane County Cougars Baseball<br />
will host <strong>Geneva</strong> Park District<br />
Night on Thurs., <strong>July</strong> 28 at Elfstrom<br />
Stadium. Game time is 6:30pm.<br />
Included is Ozzie’s birthday bash,<br />
free peanut night, post-game<br />
fireworks and post-game run <strong>of</strong> the<br />
bases. Reserved seat tickets and<br />

Movies in the Park brings theatre<br />
outdoors<br />
The Park District and Harris Bank are sponsoring<br />
“Movies in the Park.” Free and fun for all ages, movies<br />
begin at dusk (approx. 8:30pm). On <strong>July</strong> 21 Tangled<br />
plays at Mill Creek Park. On <strong>August</strong> 11, everyone’s<br />
favorite loveable super villain appears in Despicable Me at<br />
Sunset Park. Popcorn and refreshments will be available.<br />
Skateboard contest open<br />
to all ages<br />
The <strong>Geneva</strong> Park District hosts their<br />
annual skateboard contest Sun., Aug. 7 at<br />
12pm. Prizes will be awarded to the first,<br />
second and third place competitor in each<br />
division. There are three skill divisions in the<br />
competition: beginner, intermediate and<br />
advanced. All participants must wear helmets<br />
and provide their own safety equipment.<br />
Skaters under 18 must have a<br />
parent or guardian sign a waiver.<br />
Skate Park is located at 1800 South St.<br />

Concerts at Island Park are fun for all ages<br />
“Concerts in the Park,” Wednesday evenings in <strong>July</strong>, begin<br />
at 7pm in Island Park at State St. and Bennet (Rt. 25). Enjoy<br />
Antonio’s Pizza and an ice cream social with Dairy Queen<br />
at every concert. On <strong>July</strong> 6 Gallery will rock out with the<br />
classics. <strong>July</strong> 13 Final Say plays hits from the 80’s through<br />
today and the Sunset Dancers will perform before the<br />
concert at 6:30pm. Slamabama brings Country Rock to the<br />
park on <strong>July</strong> 20 and the Angels Cheerleaders will perform<br />
before the concert at 6:30pm. Island Park turns tropical<br />
when Mr. Myers brings his Caribbean sounds on <strong>July</strong> 27.<br />
George’s Circle combines music with<br />
the great outdoors<br />
Peck Farm Park’s Outdoor Amphitheater, George’s<br />
Circle, will host free concerts on Sun., <strong>July</strong> 17 and<br />
<strong>August</strong> 21 at 5:30pm. Attendees are encouraged to<br />
bring a picnic and snacks to enjoy during the show.<br />
Luau brings the tropics<br />
to Sunset Pool<br />
The <strong>Geneva</strong> Park District will<br />
be hosting a mid-summer poolside<br />
luau on Fri., <strong>July</strong> 15 from 6-9pm<br />
at Sunset Pool. Partygoers will<br />
enjoy a tropical paradise complete<br />
with activities, food, bands, hula<br />
dancers and more. Pre-registration<br />
is recommended. Pre-registration is<br />
$9 per adult, $7 per child and day<br />
<strong>of</strong> is $11 per adult and $9 per child<br />
for residents. Salt Creek Barbecue<br />
and Dairy Queen will have dinner<br />
and ice cream treats available for<br />
purchase.<br />
Flick n’ Float combines<br />
movies with fun in the<br />
pool<br />
On Fri., <strong>July</strong> 29, kids can enjoy<br />
Disney’s classic Pinocchio while<br />
floating and swimming in Sunset<br />
Pool. Yogi Bear will be featured<br />
during the Flick n’ Float on Fri., Aug.<br />
12. Movies begin at 8pm.<br />
Sunset Pool <strong>of</strong>fers nights<br />
just for teens<br />
Inspired by Red Ribbon Week,<br />
Sunset Pool will host a free teen<br />
night on Fri., <strong>July</strong> 22. On Fri., Aug.<br />
5 Teen Night at Sunset Pool will<br />
feature 95.9FM The River on-site<br />
along with activities and prizes. The<br />
cost is $3 for residents and $4 for<br />
non-residents.
