a) in basic research;
b) as a source of organs for xenotransplantation;
c) as disease models;
d) in the production of therapeutic proteins (that is, as bioreactors);
e) in agriculture (for example, the manipulation of livestock
production traits);
f) for vaccine testing; and
g) in toxicity testing
