I am conserving on my utilities. I<br />
am on a budget plan for my electricity<br />
and now use a space heater <strong>to</strong> start the<br />
day. I conserve on water and try not <strong>to</strong><br />
let my cage dryers run <strong>to</strong>o long.<br />

Advice…<br />
Dear Conservative,<br />
There are basics that we have all<br />
been taught, including turning off the<br />
lights and turning down the temperature<br />
on the hot water heater. Give your<br />
salon the once over <strong>to</strong> look for any<br />
areas where you can conserve and<br />
don’t forget <strong>to</strong> winterize.<br />
Do you leave your signs on at<br />
night? Turn them off when you leave<br />
for the day. Do you ever drive by businesses<br />
that are clearly closed except<br />
for all the flashing “WE’RE OPEN”<br />
signs?<br />
Utility companies offer budget<br />
billing through the year. Conservation<br />
is a great money saver, but knowing<br />
that you can make smaller payments<br />
on utilities can be very helpful.<br />

not necessary<br />
anymore. Most<br />
of us use our cell phone service <strong>to</strong><br />
handle the incoming calls. They have<br />
built in caller ID, voicemail services,<br />
and text messaging. Don’t forget that<br />
internet phone services are getting better<br />
and better, <strong>to</strong>o.<br />
Dear SAGE,<br />
I want <strong>to</strong> raise my prices. Just mentioning<br />
an increase <strong>to</strong> my cus<strong>to</strong>mers<br />
has resulted in comments like, “I guess<br />
we will have <strong>to</strong> find a new groomer.”<br />
Can you give me some advice on getting<br />
my rates up?<br />
