the midst cf his strenuous work. A

his office throws him in the way of
the sister of the youthful thief. He
proceeds to fall in lov(y with the girl,
who is anxious to gain his favor to
clear her brother. She wins his love
but in the effort loses her own heart,
and Thursfield learns the reason for
her having set her cap for him.

the thief rehabilitates himself, and his
sister goes to return the stolen money.
She is successful in convincing Thursfield
that she has, fallen a captive to
his mastery.
