THE NEW AND IMPROVED
DEAL SEPHARDIC
SOCIAL CENTER
Resilient, growing and always
expanding, the Jersey Shore
Community is all that and more. In
the wake of adversity, opportunity
is born. Last summer, when the
news of a devastating fire at the
Deal Community Center became
public, we thanked the Almighty that nobody was hurt.
Community leaders looked upon the event as an opportunity
for growth, expansion and a chance to prove,
once again, how resilient we can be.
This summer, the new and improved Sephardic
Social Center (SSC) will be unveiled as the only
community building of its kind on the Jersey Shore.
A multi-facetted facility, it boasts a 9,000 square foot
luxury space, dedicated to serving the community’s
social needs across generations and throughout the
entire year.
With a new façade to match its neighboring building
in the Magen David of West Deal complex, the
SSC will be available for social events and occasions
both day and night. It will continue to serve as a center
for canasta, mah-jongg and bridge tournaments and a
senior citizen social club, and will now have the ability
to host other events as well.
The new meat and dairy kitchens, upscale restrooms
and sleek, modern décor all combine to make
the SSC a premier venue for small-scale brits, bar and
bat mitzvahs, sebbets, swanees, engagements parties,
fundraising events, youth gatherings, and more.
Work on the site is moving at a brisk pace and
should be completed by mid-June. Dedications are
available and can by secured by contacting Mr. Charlie
Saka at (732) 233-3690 or csaka@sakar.com.
If you are planning an event for this summer and
would like to see the facility or get more information, you
may call the shul office at (732) 531-3220.
