Hardcore 2010—The Hardcore<br />
tournament format is a long-standing<br />
tradition for Privateer Press at Gen Con.<br />
This year, players participated in the<br />
first Mk II Gen Con Hardcore, so there<br />
were a few changes along the way. As<br />
always, though, Hardcore featured fast<br />
and furious action with strict time limits<br />
as w<strong>el</strong>l as a strict painting requirement.<br />
2010 Masters Tournament—This August<br />
at Gen Con, the finest WARMACHINE<br />
and HORDES players from across the<br />
land assembled to take part in the very<br />
first Mk II Masters Tournament. In<br />
addition to being the first Mk II Masters,<br />
this year's format featured one other<br />
change. Each player needed to<br />
demonstrate an absolute mastery of<br />
their chosen faction by fi<strong>el</strong>ding four<br />
distinct lists each led by a different<br />
warcaster or warlock. The competition<br />
was fierce, the battles gru<strong>el</strong>ing and<br />
carnage-filled, but in the end, one player<br />
stood above the rest and was crowned<br />
champion.<br />
2010 Formula P3 Grandmaster—This<br />
year at Gen Con, miniature painters<br />
from across the world assembled for a<br />
chance at fortune and fame in the<br />
annual P3 Grandmaster Painting<br />
Competition. The lev<strong>el</strong> of artistry in the<br />
entries was phenomenal, and it was<br />
quite clear each <strong>con</strong>testant spent<br />
months (maybe years) crafting and<br />
painting a mod<strong>el</strong> worthy of <strong>con</strong>sideration<br />
by our judges.<br />
