Initial Formation Foundational Topics Lesson Plans
Phase: Candidacy 12 Topic: Your Fraternity Call
Overview and Scope of the Lesson:
If you have reached this point and not completed 18 months of Candidate training sessions
you need to add one or two more sessions to complete the 18-month period.
Objective:
The fraternity can add any Franciscan related session you believe would be beneficial to
the Candidate and the Fraternity. Some suggestions for the Candidate assignment:
• Research the Name of your Fraternity or your Region.
• Research the biography of any Franciscan Saint particularly a Third Order saint
• Present the material researched by the Candidate to the Fraternity at the Fraternity
• Meeting.
• Have the Candidate facilitate an On-going Formation session.
Summary and Next Action:
Prepare your final report on the Candidate and have all material assembled with the
Formation Director for presentation to the Fraternity Council.
It is appropriate to have a Council Meeting devoted exclusively to the Profession
subject.
All members of the Council should focus on the entire record of the applicant before
voting to profess the Candidate. All supporting documents should be available and
personally reviewed by each Council Member.
