Throughout February, Music in Parks<br />

<strong>Auckland</strong> Council’s popular Music in Parks returns for its 20th<br />

summer. Make sure you check out some of <strong>Auckland</strong>’s hottest<br />

musical talent performing free in the region’s parks and reserves,<br />

from Warkworth to Pukekohe. From opera to hip hop and<br />

everything in between, the impressive line-up includes Sola Rosa,<br />

Tahuna Breaks, Midge Marsden, GiantKilla and Avalanche City.<br />

Venues: There will be more than 40 gigs spread over 20 local board areas<br />

3 February, Ali Campbell’s UB40 with Toots and The Maytals<br />

Two incredible legends of reggae will join forces for a one-off<br />

concert. New Zealand’s Got Talent star judge Ali Campbell<br />

returns to Aotearoa with UB40. The legendary voice of Red Red<br />

Wine, Kingston Town, If It Happens Again and I Cant Help Falling<br />

In Love sold over 70 million records worldwide as the front man<br />

for UB40. They notched up four number No 1 world-wide singles<br />

and over 40 Top 40 UK singles. They are joined by very special<br />

guests, Toots and the Maytals. Frederick ‘Toots’ Hibbert was<br />

awarded the Distinguished Order of Jamaica in October 2012<br />

and rightly so for the man popularly credited with giving reggae<br />

music its name with his 1968 song Do the Reggay. Their classics<br />

include Pressure Drop, Beautiful Woman and Monkey Man.<br />
