RANDOL ROBERTS was licensed to be Curate of Nohoval and Kilmonoge. [D.R.] He became, in 1724, a Vicar Choral, Cork, q. v. 1726. A cup and paten were " Presented by Elisabeth Pomeroy, 1726." to Nohoval Church, 1745 is the earliest date of an ancient parish register, now the private property of a gentleman, whose ancestor was formerly Curate. It ends Sept. 15, 1784. 1751. September 5. ACHILLES DAUNT, A.M., is licensed to be Curate of Noboval and Kilmonoge, at £20. 1775, R. V. Kilcully, q. v. [D.R.] He became, in 1784. Nov. 18 . ROBERT FORSAYETH , A.B., is licensed to be Curate of Nohoval and Kilmonoge , at £25. [D.R.] 1785. The present parish register begins. Robert Forsayeth (son of Samuel, and nephew of John, Archdeacon of Cork, q. v.), was a Scholar of T.C.D. in 1780, and was ordained Deacon on 25th January , 1783, at Cork, and Priest , at Cloyne , on 5th December, 1784. He was licensed , in January , 1783, to be Curate of St. Peter 's, at £40; and in 1784 was Curate of Ballyfeard , at £10, and also of Tracton. He was also a Vicar Choral of Cashel from 1782 to 1791. He became, in 1798, R. Kilfthmore, Cashel. He married Miss Jane Evans, of Cashel , by whom he had issue, besides eight children (all now deceased ), Richard -Martin Forsayetb, M.D., Templemore. 1802. September . WILLIAM DWYER, A.B., was licensed Curate of Noboval and Kilmonoge, at £60. [D .R.] He was also R. Templeroan , Cloyne, q. v. 1808. June 22. BLANEY MITCHELL was licensed to be Curate of Nohoval and Kilmonoge, at £75. [D.R.] 1810. September 23. ANTHONY SIMKINS, of Nohoval &c. [D.R.] A.B., was licensed as Curate 1812. ANTHONY EDWARDS, A.B., was licensed Curate of Nohoval, &c., at £75. [D.R.] 1813. October 2. JOHN HENRY MADRAS was admitted Curate of Nohoval, &c. [D.R.] In 1833 he became V. Aglisb, q. v. 1815. March 1. The deed of endowment was signed, by which (under the Act 11th and 12th Geo. III., chap. 16) Nohoval was erected into a perpetual care, with spiritual duties annexed, comprising the parishes of Nohoval and Kilmonoge. This perpetual cure was endowed with all the glebe of Nohoval, and the entire tithes, great and small, of the plowland of Nohoval, and the sub-denominations of Curravah , containing 2 gneeves ; Ballyhorkin , 1 gneeve; and Ballinreenarrig, 2 gneeves. [D.R.] 1816. Feb.21. Madras memorials tobuild; andon 8thAugust, 1817, be obtains a certificate of having laid out £624 4s. on a house . [D.R.] 1830. Protestant population, 151. 1832. Nohoval, P. C., comprises the parishes of Nohoval, 3 miles long by 1 broad, and Kilmanogue, 4 miles long by 12 broad, appropriated to the archdeaconry, containing 5,462A. 2R. 15k. ; gross population , 2,477 ; tithe composition, £75 augmentation allowance, out of Boulter 's fund, £23 2s.; 2A. 2R. 7p. of glebe, valued at 36s. per acre, £4 11s. 7d. Nohoval glebe-house built in 1816, under the new Acts, at the cost of £461 10s. 94d. Brit., granted by the late Board of First Fruits, viz., £415 7s. 84d. in way of gift, and £46 3s. Id. in that of loan ; there remained £24 chargeable on the benefice in 1832. repayable by annual instalments of £1 10s. Exclusive of moneys aforesaid , Incumbent reports that be has expender. £114 12s. lld. on the house, without having am charge on his successor . One church , situate in Nohoval village, built more than a century , but at what cost unknown. No charge on the parish in 1832 on account of the church. Divine service is celebrated once on Sundays, and on Christmas Day and Good Friday ; the sacrament is administered twelve Q
times in the year ; the benefice comprised within this perpetual cure are rectories. [Part. Rep.] 1833. April 6. WILLIAM ROBINSON TowNSEND, A.B., P. C. Nohoval, Kilmonoge, and Duniskv. Aghadda, Cloyne, q. v. [D.R.] In 1837 he became R. V. 1833. April, 25. Townsend obtains £64 17$$'. 4d. dilapidations against Madras. [D.R.] 1837. August 10. CHARLES ROBERT ADAMS, A.M., P. C. Nohoval. [D.R.] In 1826 he was R. V. Carrigdownan, Cloyne, q. v. 1844. Feb. 13. JOHN CECIL ROGERS, P. C. Nohoval and Kilmonoge, vacant by death of Rev. C. Adams. [D.R.] 1848. A font and bell were given to the church by the Archdeacon ; cost of both, £10. 1860. Incumbent, S. M. Kyle ; Curate, Rev. J. C. Rogers ; the glebe-Louse is in good repair ; a quarter of an acre of land is in the occupation of the Curate. Divine service on Sundays and festivals ; the sacrament is administered monthly ; the average of communicants is 14. 32 children are on the rolls of a Church Education Society school ; average attendance, 18. The Protestant population is 105. The annual value is £90 7s.; arising, from tithe £56 5s. ; from Boulter's fund, £23 2s. ; and £11 from laud. J. C. Rogers (son of Rev. George William Rogers, Rector of The Rowers, Ossory, who was son of George Rogers, the Chancellor of Dromore, who was son of Thomas Rogers, esq., of Lisburn) was educated at home and at Delgany, county Wicklow. He became an A.B., T.C.D., in 1839. He was ordained Deacon at Limerick at Cork, on 19th Sept., 1841. in 1840, and Priest, In 1840 he was Curate of Carriguavar lane ; and in 1844, of Nohovall. ; in 1842, of Kilbo- He married, in 1859, Louisa Russel, granddaughter of the late General Arnold, and has issue one son, Cecil-George-William. 1291. Rathelarin et R. de Insula parva. [Lib. Mun.] He was instituted on 6th April, 1615, ex preseutatione Regis Jacobi dat. 6th March, 1615, and inducted into Rathclarin on 18th April, and into R. ISRAEL TAYLOR appears again as R. de Rathclarin et particula de Burrin. Ideni est Vicarius. Val. 50 li. per an. [R.V. 1634.] Taylor was also Precentor of Cork, q. v. 1639. Israel Taylor appears as R.
