Color Blends
A color blend is a combination of two, three or
more colors mixed in unequal amounts for an
appearance that is truly unique. When choosing a
blend, it is important to keep in mind that some
of the pavers will be dominant in one of the colors
and some will be a combination of the colors that
are in that particular blend. Color blends should
be avoided on small projects. A paver installation
using a color blend requires special attention
to assure proper field blending. During the
installation, pavers should be pulled from multiple
pallets at a time. For best results, choose an ICPI
certified installer.
Color Variations
As in all natural materials, color in paving
stones has inherent variations. Paver color is
affected by the variances in the raw material,
climatic conditions and variations in print
reproduction. The colors shown are approximate
representations. Verify colors with actual samples
of product prior to ordering material. Exact color
matches cannot be guaranteed.
Efflorescence
Efflorescence is a whitish powder-like haze
that may appear on the surface of the pavers.
Efflorescence, a deposit of white salts consisting of
mostly calcium carbonate, may appear randomly
or in certain areas. Efflorescence is a normal
cement-by-product and will usually wash and wear
away with time and exposure to the elements.
Efflorescence does not affect the structural
integrity, performance or durability of concrete
pavers. There are cleaners available that can
remove efflorescence. For more information, visit
