CHASA is an online support organization for families<br />
of pediatric stroke survivors as well as children with<br />
hemiplegia and cerebral palsy. Their Web site includes:<br />
• extensive information, from rehab <strong>to</strong> vacations and<br />
potty training.<br />
• definitions and information on early intervention,<br />
types of providers and infant development.<br />
• an “Ask the Expert” section for pediatric neurology,<br />
physical and occupational therapy, and orthotics.<br />
CHASA also sponsors e-mail support groups and an<br />

PACHS is a Chicago-area support and information<br />
group. They seek <strong>to</strong> give families of children with<br />
hemiplegia, hemiparesis, diplegia and/or stroke a<br />
chance <strong>to</strong> connect and interact in person. In addition<br />
<strong>to</strong> family support and local resource information, the<br />
research link on their Web site gives clear, user-friendly<br />
information about ongoing research and new studies<br />

Parent Centers<br />
The Technical Assistance Alliance for Parent Centers<br />
supports parents of children with disabilities in<br />
meeting the educational needs of their children. Parent<br />
Training and Information Centers and Community<br />
Parent Resource Centers in each state provide<br />
training and information <strong>to</strong> parents of infants, <strong>to</strong>ddlers,<br />
children, and youth with disabilities.<br />

programs provide emotional and informational support<br />
<strong>to</strong> families of children who have special needs, most<br />
notably by matching parents seeking support with an<br />

Lekotek makes the world of play accessible <strong>to</strong> children<br />
with all types of disabilities through special play<br />
and learning centers where they can have fun with<br />
