MAOS CHITIM PASSOVER EMERGENCY TZEDAKAH It is incumbent upon every Community and Jew to contribute towards supplying basic Passover needs to those less fortunate. Dr. Charles Jacobs President, Americans for Peace and Tolerance Tuesday, April 5, 2011 8:00pm at The Shul Charles Jacobs, named by the Forward as one of America’s top 50 Jewish leaders, has spent his career helping to launch groundbreaking Jewish and human rights institutions: Boston’s CAMERA, now the world’s most respected pro-Israel media watch organization. The American Anti-Slavery Group, which helped free thousands of slaves in Sudan; The David Project, which prepares students in over 100 Jewish high schools to make Israel’s case on campus; and Americans for Peace and Tolerance, which combats the radicalization of America’s Muslim community. In addition to being an activist, Charles is an accomplished journalist. He has published in the New York Times, Boston Globe, and the Encyclopedia Britannica, among many others, and has appeared on NBC, CBS, NPR, CNN and PBS. Currently he is a columnist for the Boston Jewish Advocate. 15
