Backyard Blockbusters A screening of the film<br />

“Backyard Blockbusters”, a film about fan films and<br />

the fan filmmakers behind them. Synopsis: Did you<br />

ever see that movie where Batman fought a Predator?<br />

Or where kids remade “Raiders of the Lost<br />

Ark”? What about the fourth season of classic “Star<br />

Trek”? If none of these are familiar to you, that’s<br />

because they’re not studio projects, but fan films.<br />

For years, people have been making home movies,<br />

many times using pop culture properties that they<br />

may not own, but love. “Backyard Blockbusters”<br />

looks at the history and influence of the fanfilm<br />

genre, as well as the copyright and fair use problems<br />

these films create, featuring highlights from<br />

and interviews with the creators of many popular<br />
