Agilent offers a variety of popular HPLC packing materials 

in economical, easy to use cartridge configurations. 

Agilent cartridge configuration 

Agilent’s flexible cartridge system 

has been thoroughly tested to 

ensure that the design and 

hardware meet Agilent’s 

standards of quality. Finger-tight 

connections allow rapid column 

changes without removing the 

capillaries from the end fittings. 

The same convenient, easy-touse 

cartridge holder accommodates 

2, 3, 4 and 4.6 mm diameter 

cartridges of varying lengths. The 

cartridge columns have a unique 

filter and sieve at each end that 

help prevent blockage.

Agilent‘s reusable guard cartridge 

holder provides for rapid 

exchange of inexpensive guard 

columns, which are used to 

protect valuable columns from 

damaging samples. 

This stand-alone system is 

suitable for both 2.1 and 4.0 mm 

id. guard cartridge columns. It 

can be connected by capillaries 

to different standard fitting and 

cartridge columns. 

To ensure leak-free and minimum 

dead-volume connections, Agilent 

recommends using ¼ inch 

wrenches for installation. 

The guard cartridge system is 

rigidly tested to meet Agilent‘s 

high-quality specifications, 

making it a perfect fit with your 

HPLC instrumentation.

Zorbax guard cartridge 

The ZORBAX Cartridge Guard- 

Column Series has been 

developed to provide convenient, 

cost-effective protection for high 

performance analytical columns. 

The cartridge components 

assemble quickly to provide a 

high-efficiency, low-dead-volume 

column that seals at high 

pressures (up to 3000 psi). 

The polymeric guard column 

tubing is specifically designed to 

make leak-tight seals against 

metal surfaces without requiring 

gaskets. 

ZORBAX guard cartridge system accessories 

This polymeric tube material 

(polyphenylenesulfone) is also 

more solvent-resistant than PEEK. 

The reusable guard column end 

fittings adapt the guard cartridge 

column for connection to 1/16 inch 

LC fittings and provide a standalone

For fast, clean high throughput 

LC/MS, LC/MS/MS and 

combinatorial separations, we 

recommend the new ZORBAX 

Rapid Resolution Cartridge 

Columns. These cartridges are 

packed with ZORBAX StableBond 

and Eclipse bonded phases that 

provide excellent separations 

without contaminations from 

bonded phase degradation. 

Cartridge dimensions are 

4.6 x 15 mm or 4.6 x 30 mm and 

narrow bore sizes 2.1 x 15 mm or 

2.1 x 30 mm, all with high purity 

(99.995%) 3.5 µm ZORBAX Rx-SILbased 

bonded phase particles. 

Choose the ZORBAX StableBond 

SB-C18 and SB-C8 columns for 

maximum lifetime and exceptional 

performance at low pH (formic 

acid and TFA). Use Eclipse

The ZORBAX Preparative Guard- 

Column has been developed to 

provide convenient, cost-effective
