The participation of all these artists and 20 members of the FCA is
an incredible realization and something to look up to as watercolour
approaches keep evolving in freshness and focus. For the Federation
of Canadian Artists, with its continuous shows revealing the evolution
and progress of members, this show may help to inspire new works
and exploration.
The First FCA International Invitational Watercolour Biennale 2013
is only possible with the support and trust from friends, the board of
the Federation of Canadian Artists and the board’s president Andrew
McDermott. This exhibition must also address, with gratitude, the support
of three important friends and partners: John and Katherine Chan at the
International Art Gallery where the second show will take place May 18th
to 27th, Mr. Beau Jarvis from ONNI development and our friends from
Escoda Brushes in Barcelona. And last but not least, this exhibition would
not be possible without the strong participation of FCA staff Mrs. Mila
Kostic (Art Gallery Director) and Ms. Bev Schenke (Executive Director)
and the dedicated volunteers hanging the paintings.
Finally, I would like to express my heartfelt appreciation to a friend and
member of the Board, Ms. Elaine Chatwin, for her assistance in editing
and providing comments to this text.
