CPR & RESCUE BREATHING<br />
C.P.R.-Adult- Tilt head back, lift chin, check breathing<br />
Call 911 2 Breaths<br />
Position hands in center of chest, push down firmly, 2” depth,<br />
30 times<br />
Repeat until help comes<br />
C.P.R.-Child Tilt head back, lift chin, check breathing<br />
1-8 yrs If you are alone with the child, give 2 minutes of CPR before<br />
calling 911<br />
2 Breaths<br />
Use heel of 1 hand, 30 compressions to approximately 1/3rd depth of chest<br />
C.P.R.-Infants Shout and tap infant gently on the shoulder.<br />
If no response: Lift chin to tilt head back (not too far).<br />
If baby is not breathing: 2 Gentle breaths, 1 second long<br />
(your mouth covering baby’s mouth and nose)<br />
30 Gentle compressions, two-three fingers in center of chest just<br />
below nipples, to approximately 1/3rd depth of chest<br />
Repeat cycles-after two minutes call 911, continue breaths<br />
and compressions<br />
RESCUE BREATHING<br />
Adult: Tilt head back, lift chin, pinch nose shut<br />
2-3 SLOW breaths into the mouth<br />
(blow until chest gently rises)<br />
Check for pulse & make sure heart is still beating<br />
If pulse is present but victim not breathing, call 911<br />
Give 1 SLOW breath about every 3 seconds for 1 minute<br />
Recheck pulse and breathing about once a minute<br />
Child: Tilt head back, lift chin, pinch nose shut<br />
2 SLOW breaths into the mouth until chest gently rises<br />
Check for pulse & heartbeat<br />
If pulse is present but victim not breathing, call 911<br />
1 SLOW breath about every 3 seconds for 1 minute<br />
Recheck pulse and breathing about once a minute<br />
Continue as long as pulse is present but person is not breathing<br />
Infant: Tilt head back (not as far), lift chin<br />
Seal lips tightly around infant’s mouth and nose<br />
Fill your cheeks with air and give two SLOW breaths-breathe until<br />
chest gently rises<br />
Check for pulse<br />
