Determinants of Postthrombotic Syndrome • 387 patients with acute symptomatic DVT recruited from 2001 to 2004. • Patients evaluated at 1, 4, 8, 12, and 24 months after initial event. • Standardized assessments with Villalta scale used to determine the post-phlebitic syndrome. • Compression stocking use varied, and anticoagulation effectiveness was unavailable.
