Galgorm Castle <strong>Golf</strong> Club<br />

This spacious 18 hole Championship golf course is set in 220 acres of<br />

mature parkland in the grounds of one of <strong>Ireland</strong>’s historic demesnes.<br />

This is truly an exciting course and offers both the<br />

novice and low handicapped golfer a stimulating<br />

challenge and a memorable round. Within the area<br />

of the golf course are two historic features, Rory Og<br />

MacQuillan Castle which overlooks and dominates<br />

the tenth green and a network of souterrains at the<br />

fifth and eighth greens.<br />

The course is bordered by the rivers Maine and<br />

Braid which come into play and include a<br />

magnificent oxbow lake feature and five impressive<br />

landscaped lakes.<br />

At the rear of the club house is the <strong>Golf</strong> Academy,<br />

incorporating a floodlit driving range with 24<br />

covered bays where the PGA staff offer<br />

comprehensive practice and teaching facilities <strong>for</strong><br />

golfers of all ages and experience.<br />

Galgorm was recently cited as one of the top<br />

parkland courses in the country by Derek<br />

Henderson of the Press Association. It is also in<br />

John Redmond’s top 30 Courses in <strong>Ireland</strong>.<br />

Galgorm Castle hosted <strong>Northern</strong> <strong>Ireland</strong>’s PGA Euro<br />

Pro Tour Event in 2010, 2011 and again in 2012.<br />

The site comprising of 220 acres includes remnants of the ancient<br />

Irish <strong>for</strong>t of the McQuillan clan and is recognised as one the finest<br />

examples of early Jacobean architecture in <strong>Ireland</strong>.<br />
