6th Annual Family Fun Day - April 17, 2009<br />
Families joined together at Rancho Oso for an<br />
afternoon of togetherness that united kids and their<br />
families with others in similar situations. It was fun for<br />
all ages as kids participated in a good old fashioned<br />
Bar-B-Q, arts & crafts, mini golf, hayrides, petting zoo,<br />
pony rides and much more.<br />
5th Annual Spring Fling - April 26, 2009<br />
The Beach Grill at Padaro came alive with arts &<br />
crafts, face painting, games, obstacle courses and<br />
more! Adults enjoyed dinner and drinks, while kids<br />
rocked out to the tunes of our very own Hot Lava for<br />
a day of pure family fun.<br />
2nd Annual Mother’s Spa Day - May 3, 2009<br />
Hosted and sponsored by Theresa Borgatello-Carlson,<br />
owner of Bellezza Vita Spa, the Santa Barbara<br />
community of Beauty professionals joined together<br />
with TBCF to serve, bless & honor our children’s moms<br />
for a day of pampering and indulgence.<br />
Movie Night - November 7, 2009<br />
The La Cumbre Mall honored TBCF by selecting us as<br />
the chosen nonprofit of the night while hosting their<br />
Annual Movie Night and Kids Expo. Kids danced to<br />
the tunes of Hot Lava followed by a very special<br />
showing of “Over the Hedge” on a big giant blow up<br />
movie screen while being served popcorn and hot<br />
chocolate throughout the night.<br />
Fishing 4 Fathers - November 8, 2009<br />
With perfect temperatures and weather awaiting, the<br />
Santa Barbara Stardust took 11 very deserving dads<br />
out for a day of fishing and adventure. With special<br />
thanks to the crew, these dads caught all the fish<br />
they were able and took home dinner for a week. This<br />
wonderful day was hosted and sponsored by Jason<br />
and Jaime Diamond, owners of the Santa Barbara<br />
Sea Landing.<br />
Project Turkey - November 2009<br />
Eight families were adopted this year by Lynda<br />
Schwartz and friends. Thanksgiving dinner with all of<br />
the trimmings was prepared and personally delivered<br />
to the homes of each of these very grateful families.<br />
Project X-Mas - December 6, 2009<br />
40 new families were “adopted” by “Secret Santas.”<br />
150 presents were picked from wish lists made by<br />
each child. In collaboration with Eric’s Angels and<br />
University Movers, volunteers gathered and wrapped<br />
presents, and stuffed stockings with treats, lights,<br />
handmade cards and tree ornaments. Christmas was<br />
happily prepared and personally delivered to each<br />
family’s home with gifts, trees, overflowing stockings<br />
and food vouchers.<br />
Holiday Party - December 13, 2009<br />
TBCF was invited for the 3rd year to sponsor and<br />
organize Cottage Hospital’s Annual Pediatric<br />
Oncology/Hematology Holiday party. Over 300 adults<br />
and children attended with plenty of holiday cheer to<br />
go around. Children sat on Santa’s lap and received<br />
their gifts while Christmas carolers serenaded the<br />
party-goers.<br />
