Around the <strong>Region</strong>: Hamden Slough Youth Hunt<br />
Young hunters, mentors<br />
<strong>and</strong> parents came out for a<br />
morning of duck hunting at<br />
Hamden Slough National<br />
<strong>Wildlife</strong> Refuge.<br />
Staff <strong>and</strong> Friends of Detroit<br />
Lakes Wetl<strong>and</strong> Management<br />
District, along with volunteers<br />
from Ducks Unlimited,<br />
hosted the youth <strong>and</strong> their<br />
families for a morning of<br />
h<strong>and</strong>s-on waterfowling. Midwest<br />
<strong>Region</strong>al Director, Tom<br />
Melius, was among the dedicated<br />
mentors who shared<br />
their passion for waterfowling<br />
<strong>and</strong> conservation. This is<br />
the second annual youth hunt<br />
that Hamden Slough NWR<br />
has hosted <strong>and</strong> is a unique<br />
<strong>and</strong> very special day for mentors<br />
<strong>and</strong> hunters alike.<br />
