The eight week summer day<br />

camp program begins June 19<br />

and runs for four weeks. There<br />

is a week break followed by<br />

another four weeks. Educational<br />

opportunities learned through<br />

crafts and field trips are provid-<br />

ed for children 6-12 years old.<br />

The cost is $125 for members<br />

and $150 for non-membere. Chil-<br />

dren must be a Plymouth, Can-<br />

<strong>to</strong>n or Northville resident <strong>to</strong> par-<br />

LIVONIA FAMILY YMCA<br />

The 10-week program begins<br />

charge. Participants receive free<br />

T-shirts for every three weeks<br />

Snoopers Camp is for 3-6 year<br />

olds. The camp includes games,<br />

crafts, swimming, snacks and<br />

rest time in the afternoon. The<br />

cost is $132 for members and<br />

$185 for program members.<br />

Children in the program must be<br />

<strong>to</strong>tally <strong>to</strong>ilet trained.<br />

Jubilee Camp is for 6-8 year<br />

olds who will attend three field<br />

trips every week learning about<br />

the outdoors, various sports, arts<br />

and crafts, group games and<br />

songs. The cost is $138 for mem-<br />

bers and $190 for program mem-<br />

bers.<br />

Adventure Camp is for chil-<br />

dren 9 through 12 years old.<br />

Challenge Camp is for 12<br />

games, arcades, horseback rid-<br />

ing and sport skills. The cost is<br />

Summer Camp iB June 19<br />

through Aug. 19 for children 6 <strong>to</strong><br />

12 years old. The camp runs<br />

well as swimming and tennis<br />

lessons. The fee is paid weekly.<br />

YWCA members pay $70 for the<br />

first child and $65 for second<br />

members.<br />

There is an additional $10 per<br />

week charge for non-members.<br />

The fee includes field trips,<br />

transportation and a T-shirt.<br />

MAYtURY STATE PARK<br />

On Saturday, June 10, begin-<br />

ning at 2 p.m. children are invit-<br />

ed <strong>to</strong> attend the annual Dairy<br />

Day <strong>to</strong> learn about different<br />

dairy products and how <strong>to</strong> make<br />

butter and ice cream. This is<br />

geared <strong>to</strong>ward all age groups. No<br />

registration is needed. Meet at<br />

the farm demonstration build-<br />

ing. On Saturday, July 15, chil-<br />

dren will take part in the Annu-<br />

al Summer Grain Harvest <strong>to</strong><br />

learn about the <strong>to</strong>ols and meth-<br />

ods used in harvesting and pro-<br />

cessing grain 100 years ago.<br />

Related activities will also be<br />

included.<br />

In the month of August every<br />

Saturday program and activity<br />

will involve a garden-related<br />

theme. For younger kids, usually<br />

between ages 2 and 6, there is a<br />

farm s<strong>to</strong>ry program the first Sat-<br />

urday every month at H a.m.<br />

Different activities dealing with<br />

the farm are also included.<br />

Maybury also sponsors a sum-<br />

mer children's programs cover-"<br />

ing nature and farm <strong>to</strong>pics with<br />

a different <strong>to</strong>pic each week.<br />

worked 11 years in the medical<br />

a graduate of John Glehn <strong>High</strong><br />

School in Westland and works as<br />

a mechanic in Farniing<strong>to</strong>n Hills.<br />

the ceremony. The bride was<br />
