savannahs, the massive mountains of
the Andes, the rainforests of the Chocó,
one of the wettest places in the world,
the permanently snow covered peaks
of theSierra Nevada de Santa Marta; the
highest coastal mountains in the world
plus the dry forests of the Caribbean.

avifauna occurs.
