BUSHO FILM FESTIVAL REGULATIONS 2010
BuSho (Budapest Short) was established in the autumn of 2004 by a group of young Hungarian filmmakers and the first
event successfully ran its course the following year. The festival became an international breakthrough in an
exceptionally short period of time: we got 360 individual entries from 45 countries in 2007. We had plenty of festival
screenings, selections of film academys, feature films, conferences, film-, and all-art workshops in the program. Our main
target group is the generation of developing young filmmakers but we are very delighted at every entry. This film
celebration takes place in Budapest in the late summer of 2009. More than 630 brilliant performances from last year
influence us to open more possibilities for this year’s productions for an enthusiastic audience. Leaders and creators of
filmmaking workshops from any countries are invited to this Festival. This is to provide a special atmosphere where
participants are able to meet and share other nations’ values and differences through their performances. Besides the
competition, we are planning a show: the winning productions of different European Film Festivals. Also we are
organizing a conference about young European filmmakers’ situation and their possibilities for cooperation. In the early
years of joining the European Union it is a chance for the member countries to cooperate and establish the alternative
interests and values of the filmmaking communities.
You can enter in three categories: fiction, animation and experimental.
Duration: maximum 30 minutes!
Every film enters the festival FREE OF CHARGE!
DEADLINE: 1. May 2010
The followings are requested with the entry form filled in :
- a copy of the film on DVD for the pre-jury AND on mini DV for the screening!
- entry form filled in online then printed and signed (deadline is 1. May 2010)
- all entered films must have english subtitles: subtitles included (burned in / not optional)
If the pre-jury selects the entered production in competition, the creator of the film + 1 more person will be invited to the
festival (with food and accommodation provided). Applications of other filmmaking workshops and festival organizers are
also appreciated whose most successful films or a “Best Of” selection can be sent to the festival and also to the conference.
If a filmmaker community applies, food and accommodation is provided for the group leaders and 1 more person. To avoid
any inconvenience coming from last minute cancellation, all the guests are asked to pay an accreditation fee (a sum of 20,-
EUR), which is a symbolic way to reserve their place during the whole festival. Please send the flight reservation
